According to the recent video posted by the devs, Adopt Me will be getting a new special event that’ll last for 36 hours and the arrival of the update will change the entire map to a desert-themed one. In addition to that, there’s also going to be a mysterious shop that’ll be available as part of the update and the map will return to normal once the time limit is up. If you’re worried about not attending the event, rest easy as it’ll be available once a month so if you miss it, you can revisit it next time when it arrives in Feb 2022.

Although the Release Date of the Adopt Me Desert Update is currently unknown at the moment, according to the recent Weekly News video from the Adopt Me devs, it has been confirmed that the update will go live this week. One of the most popular Roblox games, Adopt Me has a huge fanbase of 64 million players each month. In it, you can build homes and raise your own cute pets. This new update is eagerly anticipated, bringing new animals and items to the game. Read on as we discuss the desert update release time and date in Adopt Me.
The desert update will arrive on January 20th, 2022. This is at 4 pm GMT time, 11 am ET time and 8 am PT time. It will only be available for 36 hours, so you need to work fast to get your hands on what it has to offer. Along with the desert map will come a host of new pets and shop items.
During this time, the island will begin to experience droughts. Adoption Island will be free of water, and the desert map will cover the island with sand and cacti. During the drought, Bastet and her special shop will appear. This is where you can get your hands on new items and pets.
You can catch a Scarab using a mudball. In addition to this, a Ginger Cat, Cobra, and T-Rex are also expected to make an appearance. While these are in the trailer, there are usually more released that are not included in promotional videos when patches arrive.
Once the time limit ends, the whole map will revert back to normal. The shop will vanish underwater but should return once a month from now on. To see when it returns, check back regularly, or follow the developer’s Twitter account.

The Desert Update in Adopt Me! is a unique event that dries up the river and turns the entire map into a golden desert. If you are new to this Roblox game, you may not know what the Desert Update offers, but we are here to help.
In this guide, we are going to take a look at what the Desert Update is, as well as what you can do during this limited amount of time. First, let's look at the Desert Update schedule.
The Desert Update begins on the 15th of every month and lasts for 36 hours. This means that it will be active for about a day and a half. If you missed the Desert Update, you can wait until the following month to see it again.
You can check when the Desert Update will next happen from the board on Adoption Island. Here, you can see all the upcoming weather events, with the Desert Update marked with a cactus.
When the Desert Update is occurring, you can find the Desert Shop located behind the school. This area will not have water in it, allowing you to walk on the sandy riverbed and enter the shop.
During the Desert Update, you can obtain several unique pets from inside the Desert Shop. By spending 750 bucks, you will be able to purchase the Abyssinian Cat; this is a rare quality pet.
By spending 199 Robux, you can also purchase a Mud Ball. This is used to tame Giant Scarabs.
Using The Mud Ball
To use a Mud Ball, all you need to do is equip and throw it within the shop. Soon, scarabs will approach, and you will obtain one of the following three scarab types.
- Giant Gold Scarab
- Legendary (2.5 percent chance to obtain)
- Giant Blue Scarab
- Ultra-Rare (37.5 percent chance to obtain)
- Giant Black Scarab
- Ultra-Rare (60 percent chance to obtain)
