2005 acura tsx passenger window switch

How do I know if my window switch is bad?

Testing at night with your engine off, but ignition and headlights on will be your best option. Depress the power window switch and if you see a slight dimming of your headlights or your dome or dash lights, you are getting an electrical connection to the switch and it is sending that power to the motor.

Why would only one power window not work?

If only one window stops working, the problem could be a bad relay, fuse issue, bad motor, or the power window switch has failed. The most common reason for one window to stop working is the switch, so this should be looked at by a professional mechanic to have your power window switch replaced.

Can a power window switch be repaired?

In some cases, a switch connection can be repaired. Our technicians can get into the switch pack, remove the springs and clean or replace the broken connections. When this happens we can often save our customers a bundle, but we always prepare you to replace the switch at the same time.

How do you test a window switch?

First, disconnect the negative battery terminal. Next, remove the switch panel and locate the window switch. Using the test light, touch one probe to the ground wire terminal and the other probe to the power wire terminal. If the light comes on, then the switch is getting power and is working properly.
