Can I wash my car the day after getting new tint???
I know the tint is on the inside, but i just spent $225 today on tint, and dont want anything happening. Do you guys think a routine car wash will have any affect???

Thanks. I'll have pics up tommarrow
as long as your windows are up...
dont let the washer monkeys wash the inside of the windows.
I can say that as I was a washer monkey for years
they tint the window from the inside. dont worry about it.
you have a 4 door you will be fine, just dont touch the inside.
Wow, that is the question of the day right there...
If you're serious, and they didn't tint windows on the outside, start washin'. Wait a week for the interior to dry, then clean the inside glass with a glass cleaner that does NOT contain amonia(sp?).

Werd. At least a week before rolling any of the windows down. Don't even think about going into the BK drive-thru!When cleaning inside of windows: Use ammonia-free cleaner (Most say "safe for tinted windows"). I use Stoner's Invisible Glass. Don't use paper towels, use a decent microfiber cloth.

Are you serious? You shoudn't roll down your windows for at least 4 days, and you shouldn't wash your car for a week.
I thought it was 2 days to roll down your windows... Never heard about the washing your car for a week though?

What does washing a car have to do with tint on the inside of the window?Originally Posted by dallasfan824TC does not want ghey hookers you silly.
nothing, i think im going to get 35% around when I get my car tinted soon, minus the windshield banner, and well the rest of the windshield.
Well, the people that did mine told me a week, wouldnt you want to error on the safe side anyway? Simply wait a week.
Thats for rolling the windows down.

Im guessing you have a 4 door - Shouldnt worry about washing it - The door pillars will keep the wet out - Wouldnt advise using a jetwash though just incase it leaks through a seal. Tints usually take 3-5 days to properly settle (What I got told when I had mine done on a previous car)
what is the rush to wash your car? A week can be a quick wait

As an ex installer 3-5 days on rolling the windows down. In the winter closer to five only because you are giving the adhesive time to bond to a flat surface. When temps are this cool it takes a little longer. You could probably roll them down the next day, but if they do not set up properly then who replaces them when the tint rolls off the window! Also the rolling down is not as bad as you dragging your arm across and ripping the tint right off, before it gets set up. I will admit I have rolled mine down the day after from birth of my first set and never had to redo them, but I am a pro I do this for a living well retired pro now!
As far as washing? Go ahead wash wax etc, etc... If you do get water through the window on the tint it is not going to affect it unless you use amonia based cleaners. The tint place that you had yours done at should have given or sold you a bottle of cleaner for it. Honestly use in a small bucket of water use a couple of drops of baby shampoo. It cleans with no chemicals.
My friend's dad owns the biggest tint shop in maryland and they suggest with 3m film that you wait 3 days during the summer and 5 during the winter.
