| Ok to paint toe nails before surgery??? I know every hospital is different and I will ask ahead of time but in general , is it OK to paint your toe nails before surgery? I always paint my fingernails and I know I can't. I hate that, but understand it is necessary. However I thought when I wake up after surgery, feeling bad, probably looking pretty crappy, it would be nice to look down and see some
brightly colored toe nails. Silly but some sense of normalcy would be nice I am 46 so still young enough to take my Hello Kitty house slippers to the hospital with me LOL (Yes I seriously have them and am taking them) I thought about getting a tiara but that would count as jewelry

| Ok to paint toe nails before surgery??? Nope! No toenail polish! You will most likely be put on a machine that helps to prevent blood clots in the legs and the nurses will need to check your tootsies to make sure the circulation is adequate. And bring those Hello Kitty slippers! Why not?? I brought my favorite bear with me and took him along with me as I strolled the corridors. Whatever makes
you happy is OK! Well, except for toe nail polish....

| Ok to paint toe nails before surgery??? It really depends on the hospital, so unfortunately you'll have to ask. I was told no fingernail polish but toes were fine, so I went in with bright red glitter polish (it was right before Valentine's Day) which I found cheered me up a bit. s, -Linda

| Ok to paint toe nails before surgery??? As I recall...I went into surgery with a French toe-nail polish---natural colored toe-nail polish, but with the white stripe painted on the upper edge. My doc had no problem with that

| Ok to paint toe nails before surgery??? It really does depend on the hospital. The one I went to said fingernail polish was okay. I did have the leg things on as well and they never once looked at my toes. I had a pedicure the day before surgery so you might want to ask.

| Toes OK'd for me I asked--had just gotten a pedicure w. bright red toes. They said toes are fine but no polish on fingernails. Actually, I had my feet covered with "booties" in surgery and most of the hospital stay anyway. I took them off the 2nd night. Went home the following day. I suppose it's a dr/hosp preference. My dr. didn't require shaving or bowel prep either, and everything went absolutely
fine for me!

| Ok to paint toe nails before surgery??? My pre op papers say toe nail polish is ok, but no fingernail polish. I would check with your hospital or Dr just to make sure. ~Leslie~

| Ok to paint toe nails before surgery??? Such a wide range of requirements! All aspects, not just nail polish! My pre op instructions were very explicit: no nail polish of any kind. Also no jewelry other than wedding band which would be wrapped during surgery; the morning of surgery take a shower, then don't use lotion, powder, etc of any type anywhere on the body; also no deodorant, and no
makeup at all.

| Ok to paint toe nails before surgery??? Had a pedicre before going into the castle. I made sure to ask my Dr. One of the last things I remember before my drugs kicking in was the nurse commenting on my VERY purple toe nail polish. I had the pedi scheduled just 2 days before hyst. I wasn't sure how long before I would be able to touch my toesies. I just made sure to ask at my pre op if it was okay for
color. My Doc said it was okay for toes, but not fingers.

| Ok to paint toe nails before surgery??? Hi, princessraye! I was told no nail polish but toenail polish was just fine. I went and got a pedicure a few nights before--bit of pampering for myself and something all of us princesses deserve if it's allowed. I got lots of comments on my bright pink toes!
