I tried their stuff back when they first came out. I didn't get it for curly hair back then but I still hated it. Huge waste of money, especially with the exchange since I'm in Canada lol. I got overexcited when I saw it and splurged.

Their products are sulfate free but not silicone free, which can be a recipe for disaster.

Yes it’s awful! Too bad I did my research post-purchase 😩

I used to follow a strict CG approved routine. Then ended up using function of beauty for two years. I just recently started back on the curly girl method 3 days ago and had to throw out almost new shampoo and conditioner. My hair is already doing so much better. Can’t believe products as expensive as those could do such bad for my hair.

It’s terrible, I’m cancelling my subscription today and spending my money on a nice microfibre towel lol

i tried out target function of beauty yesterday just to test it out and it worked pretty well on my hair but others have reported this brand causing hair loss. has anyone used this specific product before? the leave in treatment is the only one i bought and i’ve heard mixed reviews w the target line so i’m guessing the formula is different and most of the hair loss reports came from people who used the custom made shampoo.

I used the wavy line conditioner for a long while and I never had any problems with it. I actually thought it improved my waves. I'm currently using the curly line shampoo and conditioner but I don't like that one as much.
I get the full custom version from their website. I have fine hair, but it's really curly. I am thrilled with FOB!
Most drugstore curly hair products are really thick and heavy and overpower my hair, but the fully custom shampoo and conditioner have hit the right balance. My hair feels very soft and nourished and doesn't get greasy or fall limp. I'm ok with paying more on fob because I've spent a lot of time and money experimenting with lots of products trying to find something that works with my hair, along with lots of wasted product. I'd rather pay more up front but use the whole thing happily than have a bunch of half-used bottles cluttering up my shelf. I'm not as interested in this less custom target variation because my hair is so finicky.
I also get their custom body wash and lotion because I love having my hair and skin products coordinate. The body care products are comparable in quality to Bath and Body Works or The Body Shop, which are similar in price point. The FOB lotion definitely feels less plasticy than B&BW does.
I really love their shampoo and conditioner! I bought their stuff on their website tho and customized it for my own needs. I have super dry scalp, fine, wavy hair and I put that in and I feel like it really works for my hair. I had always had weird in-between wavy and straight hair but their stuff really highlighted my waves and made my hair super soft! It also helped with my dry scalp a lot, plus I really love the eucalyptus scent in the shampoo.
