About

Here's Your Receipt, Sir! Will There Be Anything Else? refers to a series of memes based on a suggestive four-panel webcomic in which a retail clerk asks a customer who just purchased a box of Magnum condoms, a rope and a roll of duct tape whether he needs anything else. Spawned by a viral voiceover meme, the format was popularized as the setup for bait-and-switch memes on YouTube in late April 2021.

Origin

On November 7th, 2019, NSFW artist meru_nyaa tweeted[1] a suggestive four-panel comic in which a female retail clerk sells a box of magnum condoms, a rope and a roll of duct tape to a customer, asking whether he needs anything else (shown below). In the last panel of the comic, the customer then grabs the clerk's shoulder. The clerk's appearance and name are based on Twitter user @BestestSammy.

The tweet received over 4,000 retweets and 26,400 likes in 18 months. A November 21st Newgrounds[9] repost by the author gained over 55,200 views and 600 favorites in the same period.

On April 14th, YouTube[2] user The Man With a Gas Mask reuploaded the meme to YouTube, where it received over two million views in three weeks (shown below).

Spread

Starting on April 22nd, 2021, cursed.voiceovers' meme received further spread online through more reposts on YouTube[3][4] and Instagram.[5]

ON April 24th, 2021, YouTube[6] user Mauricio Shirley Fallen posted the earliest found derivative meme, editing in Staring Hamster and a Rickroll bait-and-switch. The video (shown below, left) accumulated over 26,400 views in two weeks. On April 26th, YouTube[7][8] users Ghostcat JPEG and Plasbez posted two versions of the meme, gaining nearly 100,000 views and 40,000 views in two weeks, respectively (Ghostcat JPEG's edit shown below, right).

In late April 2021, the format achieved a notable presence on YouTube with a number of high-engagement videos, some of which utilized the Good Ending / Bad Ending supplementary format.

Here's Your Receipt Sir (Gangadiddle Ending) (originally titled "Video 6 or 7 or Whatever") is a video on the gangadiddle YouTube channel uploaded on May 20, 2021. It is 57 seconds long.

Description

Live by the memes, die by the memes.
(That's not a clue. I'm just trying to be funny.)
Link to Video 5 (or was it 6?): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN-4K...
The Technician Loves You.

Synopsis

The video opens with the text "gangadiddle.com" in lime green on a black background, next, a female anime-styled cashier briefly holds a box of "Magnum" condoms in her hand, before she then holds a receipt and says "H-here's your receipt, sir! Will there be anything else?" A gloved hand reaches toward her and she gives out a startled "Eh?"

Then, The Technician's face appears and they say "Oh hi! Wanna help me stop LSS?" The mask then winks and blushes. The scene cuts to a picture of Ceiling Cat with the text "Ohai," while music begins playing. The Technician says "Oh hi! Oh wait, I already said that."

The scene then cuts to the woman from Video Five with a YouTube comment from one "Technicallyaname" reading "This is either really meta story telling or a hijacked arg from 2012 that makes no sense". The Technician proceeds to say "Anyway, this is The Technician. In case you missed it, I put up a new video on my main channel recently. If you feel like you're too far behind on the (different voice "ARG!"), nonsense. The players have opened up a lot of info, now it's easier than ever to catch up. Happy Funtime is wide open now. You may still need to work a little to see Sad Badtime, but it's all there. If you need help getting started, there is a Discord out there, but it's not mine. Ask a player for a link.

Text appears briefly that reads "They changed their logo after my last video referenced them and Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy. Coincidence? I think so." The Technician goes on to say "And remember kids, The Technician loves you!"
