How do I change the resolution in Silent Assassin Hitman 2?

You can edit it in the hitman2.ini

yea. you can change it to 1600x1200 in Hitman2.ini....but then mybe a direct3D error will come

you can change it also to Full HD, 1920x1080, you only have to tip under "window" an 1 instead of a 0

Yeah I have the same problem. Setting a 1600x1200 resolution makes the game crash but anything below that works fine. Windowed mode doesn't work either. It replaces the cutscenes with an empty, grey screen. And the gameplay itself slows down so much that it becomes impossible to play. The problem is that the game was made in a time when widescreen resolutions weren't a standard.

Windowed mode works with all resolutions but only if you have "DrawDll RenderOpenGL.dll" in your ini-file. With OpenGL sometimes there's a shadow bug (characters rendered totally black in some areas), but restarting the game can fix it.

RenderOpenGL doesnt work for me either, the cutscenes won't show, just a grey screen. The only solution I've found is to not mess with the ini at all and play with a distorted resolution :/

Working on 1920 x 1080 and 1680 x 1050 resolution.

I used the same method as Codename 47 and it worked. Change "window 0" to "window 1". Then set your resolution to whatever your screen is. On a new line, type: "StartUpperPos 0,0" (without the quotation marks, of course). That's it. It'll be running in whatever resolution you set it to. The final paragraph in Hitman2.ini should be (in my case) :

Resolution 1366x768
DisableHWTnL 0
Window 1
EnableP5 0
StartUpperPos 0,0

The game now plays in full HD 16:9.

alternatively there's a config.exe inside the game folder. no widescreen res options though.
