I guess there is no option to do this? You'd think you should be able to reset stuff like amount of steps taken on Garmin Connect. I made a mistake to sync it over but it should be possible to remove the data synced imo... Just like you can remove an activity that you have synced if you dont want it there anymore! Also I found a setting to remove myself from segments in account settings so at least I found a fix for that!
Unless the activity is a duplicate, just flag/note/name it as fiddling with settings and move on, but it was still a legit activity, even if you were testing a device. I'm a data purest though, so unless the data is somehow fraudulent, I want it there even if I was just testing/calibrating.
Segments don't publicly show unless the activity privacy default is set to everyone - I like seeing what segments I have crossed and if I want to be ranked, I switch the activity to everyone. Otherwise my privacy default is connections only, meaning I see I crossed a segment, but strangers do not. This gives me the best of both worlds - I find desirable segments and still keep my privacy for the majority of my activities.
As Jim said, for most people, 125 steps is such a small number of steps that as you use your device, it will become like a grain of sand on a beach. It really won't matter in the long run.
I'm having the exact same issue and was told to completely turn off device for awhile then turn it back on and it will reset at midnight. It seemed to work then a day later the same thing happened. So not sure what the long term fix is ....so frustrating

It really sounds like you have time zone issue. Make sure they are correct in every link of the chain including your PC, web Connect User and Device settings, your phone settings, and that the time on your device is automatically set.
I'm having the same issue, garmin vivoactive4s steps don't change at midnight but half way through the day. I don't think it can be a time zone because its set to the phone. Extremely frustrating.
My Vivo3M started having this issue today, very frustrating! I rebooted the watch and my phone, neither corrected the problem. I doubt it's a time zone thing, ally my connections (watch, PC, and phone) are the same zone.
Is your profile in web Connect and also the time zone settings on the web for the device also set to the right time zone? Keep in mind that the web overwrites the phone which overwrites the device.
Same watch same problem. My watch/Garmin connect is telling me, that I walked 18000steps at 12pm today and it doesn't show anything for yesterday
