Apparently you could unlock prince of persia 1 while playing sands of time on the playstation 2, you can do this when you're at 33% of the game and just found your very first sword.
My question is: is this possible on the ps3 version too?

It's not that hard to explain. Soon after you get your first new sword,
you'll head into an ancient basement with a lot of open space. Near the end
of that run, you'll find yourself at a switch that rotates. Rotating it
ninety degrees will open the gate in front of you, but you can rotate it
another ninety degrees. Hit the wall it'll point at three times to knock it
down. That will officially unlock PoP1. At that point, you can continue
through the now-open gate and play right away (you'll be prompted to save
first, because you can't go back), or you could just continue on as normal
and access the game from the main menu.
It's a new game with 12 levels and you have to beat them all in one hour
There are cheat codes for each level

Im pretty confident you won't be able to unlock it due to the fact that they're selling it on the playstation store as Prince of Persia Classic

...but whats this about it being on the store? USA Store?

Im not sure if its a US playstation store exclusive or not I got it way back in 2008

if you're referring to PoP:Classic, it's on the US PSN store for 5$ (IIRC, might be 10$)
if you're referring to Sands of Time, it's exclusively on the PSN store in the US (no retail version) for 15$
