How many acres are in a lot that is 1/4 of a mile wide by 1/4 of a mile long? 1 mile = 5280 feet. (5280 ÷ 4 = 1320) feet per side, (1320 x 1320 = 1,742,400) square feet. (1,742,400 ÷ 43560 = 40) There is 43560 square feet in an acre.
