Is there a maximum daily amount that can be withdrawn from the westpac atm machine? I plan to use my bank of America debit card to withdraw cash as they are in the Global Alliance. Some banks have a daily maximum cash withdrawal so I'm just curious. thanks!

You would need to check with your bank what your daily limit is. It can depend on your account or your personal preference.

Generally $1000 a day inclusive of purchases made on the card. As PP mentions, you should check with your bank

Default is $1000/ day but can be changed at customer request to any amount from $500 to $2000. But that applies to Westpac customers. Your daily limit will be set by your bank so you should contact them.

Note also that the daily limit does not mean that you can withdraw that amount every day. As I recall there is also a weekly limit, which varies with each bank

you may want to read Sunbird's blog about her experiences with BOA inSydney. //www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowTopic-g255060-i122-k5287323-My_Sydney_Travel_Blog_At_Last-Sydney_New_South_Wales.html
Just further to Sundbird's blog about her experiences, from my own experience O/S I can tell you that while Westpac and other banks have some affiliation, if you have a problem accessing money etc IME the affiliate banks cannot access anything to do with your account and all they will do is refer you back to your own bank.
