You may follow these steps below:
1. Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone
2. Tap "MENU" button on the radio
3. Turn the knob until you see the word "SET UP"
4. On your phone's Bluetooth connection page, click the Mazda option
5. Copy the pairing code displayed on the radio
You're paired!
Do note that not all phone models work for all the Mazda's Bluetooth connections.
We’re at a unique point in our lives where we’re both expected to stay connected with our smartphones at all times, but are not allowed to use our phones while driving. Mazda has found a way to compromise without compromising drivers’ safety behind the wheel. We’re going to show our drivers how to pair the iPhone to Mazda 3 Bluetooth so they can access their most-used phone features while keeping their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.
Mazda Bluetooth pairing instructions
The only way drivers will be able to connect their iPhones to the MazdaConnect system is if the Mazda 3 is parked. Once parked, the pairing process can begin.
On the MazdaConnect system:
- On the home screen, press COMMUNICATION
- No devices will currently be connected, so drivers will select CONNECT
- Choose ADD NEW DEVICE
On the iPhone:
- Go to SETTINGS
- Switch Bluetooth toggle to the ON position
On the MazdaConnect system:
- Drivers will be prompted to search for MAZDA in their iPhones
- Verify six-digit code on the phone is the same as on the MazdaConnect system
- Locate iPhone in DEVICES list
- Select iPhone
- Confirm six-digit code
- Select PAIR
- Press SHOW NOTIFICATIONS if car is compatible with text notifications
Should any issues arise when drivers try pairing their iPhones to Mazda 3 Bluetooth or the MazdaConnect system, they can schedule a service appointment with our specialists at Ingram Park Mazda today. Also contact us to schedule a test drive with a MazdaConnect-equipped 2016 Mazda 3.

How to use Bluetooth in a Mazda3?

Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and set it to discoverable, then use the Menu button on the Mazda3 audio screen to scroll through to BT Setup. Select BT Setup using the volume dial, then use that same button to select Pair Device. The system will display a four digit PIN on the screen, accept that by pressing the volume button. The screen should then flash Pairing on the screen, so select the car's Bluetooth name on your phone, then enter the four digit PIN on your phone. The car's audio screen system should show Pair Success if it works as intended. Further details will be in your owner's manual.
