Determine if there are any components in your current system that you can / will / need to re-use.
Otherwise, for all intents and purposes, you're building a new system. New MB = new CPU = new RAM, so factor all that into your pricing.

From my little research, it looks like it's a ESC G41T-M7, and i belive it's the same socket as yours.

Get the G41t M7 board from your friend. Its the same socket LGA 775
as your current intel board but its newer and supports the quadcore cpus.
You could just buy a used Q6600 or Q8400 quadcore that would be a nice upgrade.
The i3, i5, i7 cpus are on a different socket called LGA 1155 and 1150, you'll have to buy a new board if you want an i3.

I dont know about India, but here in the states the old 775 CPU selling dirt cheap. Like I have 2 and its barely worth selling them at all...If you could snag an old 775 Quad core, it would be a inexpensive upgrade. Q6XXX, Q8XXX or Q9XXX. Just be aware that G41 motherboard wont overclock much, at all.

Your data wont go anywhere, windows might get unhappy as it uses motherboard serial number as part of its product registration process and that will change after your switch.

Its comparable to an old geforce 3. You can play games from year 2000 and below like quake 3 and halflife 1.
what cpu did you end up getting?

I'm surprised the onboard gpu can run COD 4, I guess its on par with a geforce 6100.
Get a new budget gpu first, like an R7 240 or GT740, then start looking for a used Q8400 or better quadcore for
that board.

Replace
the board's cmos battery, you got that board from a friend so its at least a couple of years old.
That battery provides power to store the current date and time when your computer is powered off.

It should cost more or less $1, and you can buy it from any computer store.
