Hello, Are these correct? Any corrections or additional insight to the meanings would be extremely helpful.
This is my first time posting in the Greek forum. For a long time, I have been interested in getting a tattoo of five Greek words for love. The words I would like are (in Latin characters) Agápe, Éros, Philia, Storge and Thélema.
I have seen the Greek character translations on websites; however, I would like verification that
these are correct and respectively translate to five different types of love. This is what I have found:
Agápe : αγάπη
Éros : έρως
Philia : φιλία
Storge : στοργή
Thélema : θέλημα

Yes they are all correct. The word "έρως" is not a common form in modern greek. We use "έρωτας" instead of "έρως". Don't use "θέλημα" too. It´s not a common word for love affairs. For example: "Θέλημα Θεού" is a "Wish of God". Tell me what do you want to express with this word and we will find a better one.

The words mean:
αγάπη = love (used for all sorts of love)
έρωτας / έρως = love between lovers, passionate love (Eros was the ancient Greek God of Love, thus the word is mainly used in modern Greek to evoke that image)
φιλία = friendship
στοργή = tenderness, affection (parent to child as well as person to favourite pet)
θέλημα = exactly as explained previously (also used
in the sense of 'errand'). Could it be you were looking for
πόθος (pothos) / επιθυμία (epithimia) = lust / desire ? In that direction, there is also
πάθος (pathos), the Greek word for passion...

Thank you for your help! Do all of these exist in Greek? I've been finding conflicting answers, and it is confusing.
I would like the words to mean:
Eternal love
Passionate love
Love between friends
Love between a parent and child
Love between God and man.

As in English, there is no single term for what you're looking for in Greek. The best I could come up with was this: Eternal love = Αιώνια/Παντοτινή αγάπη May I make a silly suggestion? If it's tattoos we're talking about, why not consider the japanese ideograph for love? It's positively gorgeous...
Passionate love = Πάθος / Έρωτας (either 'passion' or 'love' in its strongest form)
Love between friends = Φιλία / Αγάπη μεταξύ φίλων
Love between a parent and child = Αγάπη γονιού για παιδί / στοργή / τρυφερότητα
(the last two translate as affection and tenderness respectively)
Love between God and man. Αγάπη του Θεού για τον άνθρωπο / Πίστη (Man has 'faith' in God in Greek, it is unusual to speak of man's αγάπη (love) towards God).
