Laughing at the high ratings for Columbia. I am from here and looking to leave. Columbia is the place that tracked down and tried to murder Thurgood Marshall back in the day. Not much has changed since then. Most places close down at 5pm. There are very few jobs outside of Walmart, Kroger, and Lowes. Most residents commute to Coolsprings or beyond for sustainable work. The best parts of this conservative, racist town
is the Crystal Shop, Crystals and Curiosities, that survives, somehow, Vanh Dy's Restaurant and affordable housing (because no one with options wants to live here). Look elsewhere. I would give it negative 5 stars if I could but the algorithm will not allow anything less than 2. Just know, Columbia is the place where hope comes to die.
Start Your Review of Columbia
I have grown up in Columbia, Tennessee. Locals, such as myself, call the city "Muletown" because Columbia is the mule capital of the world! Every year we have a huge festival that lasts a week long, dedicated just to mules. I
have always loved living here and hope my family stays, when I move away for college. My favorite part of Columbia is the Square, all of the stores around the square have been remodeled and restored.
I'm sitting here laughing at the 4 and 5 star reviews of this town. What are yall talking about?
The town is rundown. The people are not kind to "outsiders" (people who weren't born here and ultimately will die here).
Race relations are tense. I've never heard epithets used so casually in my life, and I've lived in more than a few southern cities.
There's nothing to do, and the only saving grace this pathetic town had was its cheap real estate which now is zooming sky high.
There is literally NOTHING redeeming about this hole of a city.
Well, the courthouse is pretty. The end.
