Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient PC skills; strong analytical and problem solving skills; visual and auditory skills. Experience: Prior experience directly related to insurance industry would be preferred. General Responsibilities Responsible for tracking of fire and flood insurance policies following guidelines for preparing letter notifications within specific time frames mandated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau with fire insurance and FEMA for flood insurance; calculating and force placing insurance coverage when necessary, processing monthly billings. Essential Duties * Performs a variety of duties with tracking fire and flood insurance for all banks under the holding company as follows: * Opens mails, sorts insurance into fire and flood policies; renewals and cancellations. * Searches loan system to match policy to loan collateral. Analyzes amount of coverage to determine if sufficient. Notates account number on policy. * Follows up with agent on cancellations. Creates required letters under the timing guidelines from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for fire insurance. * Creates required letters within the time frames to be in compliance with the Flood Insurance Regulation for flood policy cancellations. * Calculates required flood insurance as stipulated by the Flood Regulation. Force places insurance coverage when necessary with a third party vendor to ensure compliance with Regulations and Bank Policy. * Creates monthly fire and flood insurance billings from online software used to force place fire and flood coverage. * Creates and updates ticklers on loan system used to track receipt of annual flood insurance policies. * Addresses life of loan flood updates received from our flood vendors due to flood map changes by FEMA. Prepares letter notifying borrower of flood change following specific steps to ensure compliance with Flood Regulation requirements. * Assists with obtaining flood information/reports for auditors and examiners. * Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace. * Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements., e.g. Flood Insurance Regulation, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc. * Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel. * Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy. * Provides guidance and training to less-experienced loan operations personnel as directed.
