   Despite the Burnout heritage, NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered is a hardcore racer that looks and plays incredibly on the Switch. Love racing games? You need this. [Issue #2, p.62]

2. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered remains a thrilling arcade racer even a decade on from its debut. The minute to minute excitement of playing cat and mouse with cops and racers is still an entertaining concept, and Criterion is the master of this type of white-knuckle racing. It is admittedly relatively basic as far as remasters are concerned, and there’s not that much here for those who have seen it all before, but those who have yet to drive these streets are in for a good time.

3. The Need for Speed series isn’t the behemoth it used to be but it’s great to see one of the last great entries in the series make its way over to Nintendo Switch. It may be a ten-year-old game, but it manages to stand toe to toe with other more recent examples on the console with ease.

6. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered brings the classic 2010 arcade racer to the Nintendo Switch. It harkens back to the heyday of the series when they were at their peak. While it’s fun, it doesn’t bring much new to this port so It ends up feeling dated and the progression grindy. While nothing can match the chaos of a good cop chase, the rest of the package could use some updates. That being said, those looking for a new arcade racer will surely find a good time here.

7. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is a mixed bag. On one hand, its simplicity in its pick up and play race-to-race gameplay style can suit those who enjoy "back to basics" game modes. Anyone seeking an experience that can be fun to play with limited options will find Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered a joy to play, especially given its relatively budget price. Petrol heads and those looking for a bit of nostalgia will be satisfied with the car selection and arcade gameplay. However, Hot Pursuit Remastered's game modes both inside and outside of career mode are fairly scant, and fall short of standards set by other racing games in the modern landscape - even those upheld historically within the Need for Speed franchise itself.

6. Fantastic port, even if it is a bit barebones. Game runs locked 30fps, no exceptions, some slight pop-in here and there but overall the gameFantastic port, even if it is a bit barebones. This game has a LOT of content, tons of races to do, and they are FUN. The races don't feel like chores. If you liked the burnout paradise remaster you will enjoy this title! The game also has a great soundtrack comprised of indie, rock, and electronic music, and considering it is from 2010, it has aged pretty decently.

   9/10 great port of a great game but nothing over the top.
