The music in a film or TV show can often make or break the final product as the songs used can add just the right feeling to each scene. The Lost City release date and plot
After being in development for a whopping seven years prior to production, The Lost City finally made its way onto screens in the US on March 25th, 2022.
Starring Sandra Bullock, the film tells the story of the brilliant but reclusive author Loretta Sage who has spent her career writing about exotic places and adventurous journeys despite never having travelled herself.
However, Loretta’s downward spiral of a life is turned on its head when she is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire who hopes to learn of the location of the mystical lost city that features in the author’s work.
Wanting to prove he can be a real-life hero, the dim-witted cover model of Loretta’s books, Alan, jets off into the unknown to rescue her, not in any way prepared to deal with the dangers of the jungle that lie ahead.

Who composed the score?
As well as a host of licensed songs, The Lost City also features a cinematic score.
The adventurous music is the work of Turkish-American composer Pinar Toprak, who became the first female to score a film in the MCU with 2019’s Captain Marvel.
Born in Istanbul, Pinar began scoring films and TV series as early as 2004 and has worked on a number of projects since then including the animated short films Purl, Disney’s Us Again as well as the TV shows DC’s Stargirl, Krypton and McMillions.
To coincide with the film’s release, Pinar Toprak’s score was made available on music streaming services such as Spotify in the US and is expected to follow suit internationally when the film debuts in countries around the world.
