If you’re on this page, this means your Sims have white, red or black questions marks all over their bodies and you’re trying to understand why that is so. This glitch usually affects adult Sims and occurs shortly after updating the game. So, basically, your Sims have red and white skin with a few question marks. Let’s see what might be causing this issue.
Why are my Sims red, black or white with question marks?
Your Sims have red and white skin with questions marks due to incompatible custom content files. The game is unable to read or retrieve texture-related data from the CC files. Or it could also be broken CC or missing meshes.
Remove all CC and mods
It’s not uncommon for CC and mods to interfere with the game and break certain functionalities. So, remove all of your CC and mods, restart the game and check if your Sims still have questions marks on them.
After you move your CC and mods on the desktop, and restart The Sims 4, your Sims should get their humanoid tones back but are unclothed. Close the game, and moved the mods back into the original folder except the Resource.cfg file. Check the results.
On a side note, many users suspect that 18th century CC clothing might be the culprit. So, if you’re using that type of CC clothing, start by removing that particular CC file and check if the issue is gone.
Repair the game
Repairing your game files may help you fix this problem. Launch Origin, go to My Game Library, right-click on The Sims 4 and select Repair Game.
If the problem persists, try repairing your game again. You might have to repair your game multiple times. Apparently, the third repair is the charm. Or, at least, that’s what seems to have worked for others.
Reinstall the game
First, create a copy of your game folder, go to Origin and uninstall the game. Restart your computer.
Then reinstall The Sims 4 with all of your game packs checked. The whole process may take a while. The power up your game and check if your Sims still have red and white skin.
