This song used to be on TWLOHA website years ago, 2010-2012 maybe, when it had a music player. It was about someone drowning in a river or almost drowning in a river but I know it mentioned a river or stream. It must have been from the 2000s but that’s really all I can remember.

It was also part of a whole playlist on their old website I really wish I could find too. Thanks

No, I’m pretty sure it was about a boy that fell in a river. It was some sorta metaphor for depression I think. It’s been over 8 years since I heard, I know it’s very vague.

If I Die Young by The Band Perry?
level 2
No, much less popular of song. Thanks
level 2
No, it had to have been pre 2012

Either stan by Eminem, or drown by Front Porch Step?

Sounds like Into the Ocean by Blue October.

‘Hazard’ by Richard Marx. “I swear, I left her by the river. I swear I left her safe and sound”

The River - Good Charlotte?
level 1
Did it sound like an old folk song with a kind of gospel vibe?
level 1
Frightened Rabbit - Floating in the Forth, maybe?
level 1
What'd it sound like? Sad, slow, etc?
level 2
It was supposed to be sad, but it was like a ballad it was more a slower rock/indie song. It was definitely about someone drowning in a river and someone trying to helping them.

So your mention of TWLOHA made me remember a small band related to them that I’d forgotten until now- Does “Between the Trees” sound familiar? I’m not having luck finding the particular song but I think this artist could be related
I heard a song on 8tracks a while ago but for the life of me can't find it (the app is no longer available in my country) As far as I can remember it's about a woman drowning In a river or buried near a river. There might have been something about roses? I'm not sure It was sung by a woman, wasnt upbeat and sounded like German the first few times I heard it. Ill be really grateful if any of you can help me.

PLEASE help! 90s song, guy singing about a riverHi, I'm a newbie and I really need some help. I was in Winn Dixe the other night and I caught the tail end of one of my favorite songs from the 90's.
I never knew who sang it or the name. It was a guy singing, a real sad, beautiful song. About his love who had drowned in a river, I remember the chorus always ended w/ "by the river" the word river was broken down like "riiii, iver" I wish I could sing you the tune on here coz that's really all the lyrics I can remember.
Anyways, this is really driving me crazy and I would really appreciate your help.

Hi!
Could it be "The River" by Bruce Springsteen?
"I come from down in the valley
Where mister, when you're young
They bring you up to do like your daddy done
Me and Mary we met in high school
When she was just seventeen
We'd drive out of this valley down to where the fields where greenWe'd go down to the river
And into the river we'd dive
Oh down to the river we'd rideThen I got Mary pregnant
And, man, that was all she wrote
And for my 19th birthday I got a union card and a wedding coat
We went down to the courthouse
And the judge put it all to rest
No wedding day smiles, no walk down the aisle
No flowers, no wedding dressThat night we went down to the river
And into the river we'd dive
Oh down to the river we did rideI got a job working construction for the Johnstown Company
But lately there ain't been much work on account of the economy
Now all them thing that seemed so important
Well, mister they vanished right into the air
Now I just act like I don't remember
Mary acts like she don't careBut I remember us riding in my brother's car
Her body tan and wet down at the reservoir
At night on them banks I'd lie awake
And pull her close just to feel each breath she'd take
Now those memories come back to haunt me
They haunt me like a curse
Is a dream a lie if it don't come true
Or is it something worse,
that sends me
Down to the river
though I know the river is dry
That sends me down to the river tonight
Down to the river
My baby and I
Oh down to the river we ride"Poisnivy said: 07-13-2006 11:30 AM
thanks, but no that's not it
It's actually quite close to what I remember it (the lyrics) being like, but it's not the same song. In fact.. I "think" it did have something about "me and mary" or at lease a woman's name... man this is so frustrating.. I'm going to have to spend all day in Winn Dixie and hope that song comes back on!

Is The Song 'hazard' By Richard Marx? The Song Is About A Girl Named Mary That Went Missing Down By The River And He Is Accused Of Killing Her, But Swears He Didn't Do It. It's A Slow Song And I Liked It When It Came Out In The 90s.
The Lyrics At The End Of The Song Are Something Like: "i Swear I Left Her By The River, I Swear I Left Her Safe And Sound. I Need To Make It To The River And Leave This Old Nebraska Town."daniv said: 07-14-2006 05:26 PM
is it by Billy Joel? I don't know the title, but i think its by him
