With the Toyota Yaris GR’s combined impressive structure and iconic rally performance, drive as you wish on all types of roads with peace in mind.
Special Features of the Toyota Yaris GR
GR-FOUR Sports AWD System
Yaris GR’s performance supports a high-reaction coupling that regulates the torque distribution between the front and rear axles.
The AWD mode dial switch allows the driver to adjust the system’s performance according to their preference.
The torque balance in each mode – Normal (60-40), Sports (30-70), and Tracks (50-50) – adjusts dynamically in response to the driver’s inputs, vehicle behaviour, and road conditions.
Multi-Information Display
With this feature, you can have essential driving information at eye level as it is located between the tachometer and speedometer in front of the steering wheel.
LED Daytime Running Lamps
This function can reduce more car collisions during the day.
Touchscreen Multimedia
It also supports new Toyota infotainment devices, including Bluetooth networking, voice recognition, Siri Eyes Free, reverse camera, and my-Toyota apps for live weather forecasts, travel, and transport statistics.
Smart Entry System
The new Smart Entry & Push Start System technologically enables you to do many standard operating functions for your car by holding a key anywhere on your body. This feature also aids you in unlocking and locking the front and side to start the engine and even locking and unlocking the vehicle’s back doors.
Rear LED Fog Lamps
Toyota Yaris GR has LED Fog Light with precision lights, which delivers high-regulation light to assist drivers in the heavy fog and mud, providing visibility in harsh weather when they shine a sporty character.
They are formed in special housings with high water, impact, and corrosion resistance.
Interior of the Toyota Yaris GR
Digital Radio (DAB+)
All available digital stations are automatically tuned. It transmits track and artist information to your car’s multimedia screens and traffic alerts without interrupting the audio stream.
GR-badge 3-spoke Leather Steering Wheel
With its auto tilt-away & return function, you can easily change your preferred driving position. The steering wheel is also multi-functional, offering control options of the Multi-Information Display (MID), telephone, and audio features directly on the wheels.
It also comes with voice recognition and a hands-free system.
Sun Visors for Driver and Front Passenger
The built-in sun visors of the Toyota Yaris GR are adapted to protect the driver’s eyes and the front passenger from the sun’s light.
These sun visors also lower the interior temperature – the blocking and reflecting of the sun’s light help reduce your vehicle’s heat build-up.
Vehicle Stability Control
While turning in a curve, the Vehicle Stability Control stabilizes your Toyota Yaris GR to effectively prevent the wheels from sliding sideways while maneuvering or unexpected steering.
Braking is automatically applied to all four individual wheels when the vehicle detects a loss of traction or slip, and engine power decreases to help ensure the vehicle’s safety.
JBL Sound System
Delivering a crisp and clear sound, the JBL sound system is carefully tailored in the Toyota Yaris GR’s interior.
It perfectly matched the design and individual nature of your Yaris GR and giving you exceptional clarity and depth music.
Center Console Cup Holders
You don’t need to worry, bringing in drinks inside the Toyota Yaris GR as it includes a cup holder for both front passengers located between the driver and front passenger. The cup holder keeps your cups, bottles, and glasses secure and within reach, allowing you to focus on the road, reducing accident risks.
Exterior of the Toyota Yaris GR
Dual Exhaust System
The dual exhaust has an H pipe before the converters so that the pressure is regulated and the power increases. The crossover is between the two drainage pipes, and the exhaust piping creates an H shape.
Automatic High Beam
The high beams are switched off, and the low beams are engaged when another light is detected. When other headlights pass, the system automatically reactivates the high beams.
18-inch Alloy Wheels
It also decreases the unsprung weight and transmits less inertia to the springs so its suspension can follow the ground with a higher grip.
These alloy wheels also give the new Toyota Yaris GR a more striking appearance.
Reversing Camera
The rearview camera makes reverse parking and manoeuvring much more manageable and smoother. As the reverse gear is engaged, it automatically triggers and shows the vehicle on the central monitor.
The dynamic guidelines of the media display give drivers a clear orientation when manoeuvring.
All-speed Active Cruise Control
Ensuring a maintained safe distance between vehicles, the all-speed Active Cruise Control feature keeps your car at a preselected speed using your Toyota’s built-in camera and front-grille-mounted radar.
These sensors detect a slower vehicle moving within a distance; to keep you safe, the system slows down your car.
Electronically-Folding Mirrors
With the electronically-folding mirrors, you can adjust them without leaving your seat. This feature prevents damage to the outside mirrors, particularly in small areas.
It also features an automatic function for the driver’s external mirror and inner rear mirror.

History of Toyota Yaris GR
The Toyota Yaris is a subcompact car in replacement for the Starlet and Tercel way back in 1999. Toyota used the Yaris label on export versions of different Japanese-market models. Having its name inscribed in history, the Toyota Yaris GR was born from the World Rally Championship in 1988. It came from the well-known full-time-all-wheel-drive sports Celica GT-FOUR that won the WRC Driver’s title in 1989. The Celica GT-FOUR was the 2nd consecutive winner of the Manufacturer’s title, making it a car worthy of respect. Its name Yaris came from the word “Charis.” It is the singular form of Charites, which means the Greek goddesses of charm and beauty. Yaris sold 8.71 million units worldwide as of March 2020.
The Toyota Vitz (XP10) and Toyota Platz (XP10) were the first generation models under the “Yaris” and “Echo” names on different markets. It was marketed between 1995 and 2005 with body variants offered. It could be a hatchback, sedan, or coupe.
Its second-generation models – Toyota Vitz (XP90) and Toyota Belta (XP90) followed in 2005 and are on the market until 2013. The production of hatchback versions stopped in late 2013 for Asian markets. It is sold under the name “Yaris” worldwide.
The nameplate “Yaris” continued in the third-generation models. It was initially available only as a hatchback but then made the sedan body variant available in 2013. Toyota Vitz (XP130), Toyota Yaris (XP10), and Toyota Vios (XP150) sedan versions are not available in all countries.
The fourth-generation Yaris hatchback is available in October 2019 in selected countries, built on the GA-B platform. It went on sale in Japan in February 2020 and was made available in April 2020 for the 4WD variant. The new fourth-generation hot hatch Toyota Yaris GR arrives with two engine options available.
According to Toyota President Akio Toyoda, it was a personal ambition to create a sports car in 4WD made purely by Toyota and first in 20 years. Toyota won the WRC manufacturer’s championship in 2018, and Akio saw the winning car as an opportunity. He looked at it as the chance to fulfill global recognition as a real auto manufacturer. The Yaris GR arrives with the all-new 4WD born from the title-winning car in WRC now with much more improved aerodynamics. Furthermore, it improves the Yaris GR performance, making it easier to drive on different kinds of roads.
