TAMPA, Fla. – Bally Sports Sun, the network home of the Tampa Bay Lightning, announced plans to produce and televise 69 Lightning games during the 2022-23 National Hockey League season.

The Lightning’s game Friday, Oct. 14, at the Columbus Blue Jackets will mark the network’s first puck drop of the season with live coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. All broadcasts throughout the season will feature half-hour “Lightning Live” pregame shows and extended postgame coverage.

Lightning games and programming airing on Bally Sports Sun will also stream live on the Bally Sports app, available on mobile and tablet devices (including iOS and Android), connected devices, and BallySports.com when fans authenticate using their pay-TV credentials. New this season, Lightning games and coverage will also be available on Bally Sports+, the all-new standalone streaming subscription service from Bally Sports. Play-by-play announcer Dave Randorf returns for his third season in the Bally Sports Sun broadcast booth alongside color analyst Brian Engblom, who is back for his eighth season providing expert commentary. Engblom will again take fans to ice level, calling select games from between the benches.

“Lightning Live” host Paul Kennedy will be joined throughout the season by Hockey Hall of Famer Dave Andreychuk, former Lightning winger Adam Hall and legend Bobby “The Chief” Taylor as analysts during pregame, postgame and intermission. Reporter Gabby Shirley is back for her second season covering the team and providing interviews and behind-the-scenes access on the broadcast and social media.

The popular “Inside the Lightning” and “Recharge” series return and will feature player profiles and behind-the-scenes access to other aspects of the team and its operations – all designed to bring the fans closer to the Bolts.

Four new episodes of “Recharge” recapping last year’s Lightning run to the Stanley Cup Final will premiere on Bally Sports Sun from 8-10 p.m. on Thursday and re-air from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday ahead of the “Lightning Live” pregame show and puck drop of Lightning-Blue Jackets.

Bally Sports Sun will also celebrate the Lightning’s 30th anniversary this season, presenting special elements catching up with alumni and looking back at the biggest moments in franchise history.

TAMPA — Eleven Lightning games will be televised nationally this season on ESPN or TNT, the NHL’s new U.S. television rights-holders.

ESPN will carry the Oct. 12 regular-season opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins as the first half of a doubleheader, one of three Lightning games the network will broadcast nationally on its flagship channel.

Three other games will be shown exclusively on subscription services ESPN+ and Hulu, including a Dec. 28 home game against the Montreal Canadiens, who the Lightning defeated in last season’s Stanley Cup final.

TNT will broadcast six Lightning games, including Tampa Bay’s outdoor Stadium Series game against the Nashville Predators Feb. 26 at Nissan Stadium, home of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans.

TNT also will show the Lightning’s first trip to Seattle to face the expansion Kraken on March 16, as well as a trip to Long Island to face the New York Islanders— Tampa Bay’s Cup semifinal opponent — on March 27.
