Hello - This summer we're going to be driving from Acton, MA toQuebec City and would like to spend the night somewhere that is halfway or slightly more than half way between the two. So somewhere that's roughly an hour north of Mount Washington would be ideal. We'd love to find somewhere that's interesting to visit or that's a fun resort with a pool, etc. Open to all ideas! Thanks.

Not quite halfway but a nice little town….Littleton, NH
A little more halfway for you would be Sherbrooke, QC.

Magog Quebec. It's a great summer town right on a huge lake. There are places to stay right on the lake where you could swim but I always stay more in the town so have not noticed if any have pools.
Littleton is indeed nice but I definitely would not suggest Sherbrooke.

Hank is correct regarding Sherbrooke.... I should have been more clear.....
Sherbrooke is more of a stop over place as opposed to a place that is considered "quaint" or a "fun visit" as you describe. There are plenty of restaurants there.
I have driven through Magog but have never ventured off the highway toy explore it. With Hank's description, we will check out that area more the next time we visit later this summer.

You should definitely check it out drill-n-fill. Also, on the opposite side of rt 55 North Hatley is really nice. North Hatley is super small though. The whole area, aka Eastern Townships, if pretty nice.

I second the suggestion for Magog - fun lakeside resort town. Ayers Cliff is also nice - a smaller, somewhat upscale lakeside village.

Ripplecove Hotel & Spa is in Ayer's Cliff. Depending what exactly you mean by "resort" that may be just what you're looking for. They do have a pool.
Magog has far more restaurants and shopping type stuff but if hotel is the most important thing and Ropplecove looks good it's no big deal to drive to Magog.

We had a long weekend in theWhite Mountains a few years ago and did a day trip to Magog. Had a great time driving around and climbed halfway up the mountain (on a hot sunny day)

We used to go to Magog every summer when our kid was small. It’s super cute. Lots of accommodation choices and restaurants.
