What state is known for apple cider donuts? near adelaide sa

Fall wouldn’t be complete without apple cider, doughnuts or the popular amalgamation of the two, apple cider doughnuts.

There are many places in the region that serve apple cider doughnuts, like Misfit Doughnuts and Treats, the vegan shop in the South Wedge, and Golden Harvest Bakery in Scottsville. And grabbing a warm, sugar-coated apple cider doughnut from Duke's Donuts is a ritual for many visitors to the Rochester Public Market on Saturdays.

But to me, apple cider and apple pastries taste best when enjoyed as part of a total experience that includes going to a local farm, picking apples, buying pumpkins and struggling to load straw bales and cornstalks into the car.

With that in mind, here are some of the local farms that do a nice job of cider and doughnuts. Many make apple cider doughnuts — but there are other seasonal baked goods that are equally as delicious.

What state is famous for apple cider donuts?

It's a cider maker's tradition to use some of the freshly pressed juice to make lightly tangy, apple-scented doughnuts like these. The cider adds more than flavor, though; its acidity makes the doughnuts tenderer.

Where are apple cider donuts from?

Cider doughnuts are a harvest tradition in autumn in the northeastern United States and are sometimes sold at cider mills. They are often paired with apple cider, and may be covered with cinnamon and/or granulated sugar.
Australia's best doughnut isn't strawberry, chocolate or cinnamon, but a lemon meringue delicacy made by 41-year old mum Lita Khorn in her Warwick Farm store, The Doughnut Mum. Ms Khorn's doughnut won the top prize at the Baking Association of Australia's National Donut Competition.

What is Port Elliot Bakery famous for?

Some people go for the pies and pasties and love popular flavours like the steak pie and the chicken korma pie, but I must confess we go for the sweets. Each month there is a donut special which is a favourite for many visitors.
