Where is the sandbox lab in grounded?

In Grounded, there are a number of main labs you'll visit during the main story missions. Alongside these, there are also a variety of secret labs scattered across the backyard. On this page, we've got details of all the secret lab locations and how to reach them.

Secret Lab Locations

You can find a list of all the Secret Lab Locations below, with details on how to find them. This page is currently in progress, so more information will be added as more labs are found.

The Lab With the Berry Explosion

To gain access to this secret lab, you'll need to take an explosive like the Bratburst along with you.

To find the entrance to this secret lab, head south of the pond towards the stone wall as marked on the map above. You'll need to locate the Squirts Carton that sits just next to the stone wall, to find the entrance.

Once you're here, be careful of the Mosquitos, Bombardier Beetles and Spiders that patrol the area, as they can make reaching the lab tricky. If you climb up onto the carton and face the wall, you'll be able to see a gap in the stone wall where the lab doors are if you look straight across.

You now need to find a way to climb up or over to the gap in the wall. We used grass stairs, starting from the area that has lots of grass blades for a quick and easy way up.

When you reach the top, you'll see that the door is obstructed. Now's the time to throw out an explosive and blast your way through to the secret lab. If you didn't see the note at the start of this page, be sure to go craft an explosive if you don't already have one.

Inside, the lab is covered with berry chunks. There are two important items for you to grab here. On the right, you can grab the Rotten Berry Charm and inside the trash can, you can pick up the Pinch Whacker.

Stump Lab

In the upper part of the backyard, to the northeast, you'll find a stump. Inside here, is a lab, where the door can be seen in a log that's sticking out of the ground.

To get inside, there are a few conditions:

• You need to have completed the Black Anthill Lab and defeated the Tap to Reveal. Doing this will give you a keycard that's needed to unlock the door.
• You need to go back to the Pond Lab and locate the small part of the lab that's in the south, in the main pond area. This is where you'll go inside to unlock the door for the Stump Lab.

How to Unlock the Stump Lab

Return to the Koi Pond once you've completed the Black Anthill Lab, and head towards the south of the pond to the location marked on the map above.

Dive down here until you see the pink glow of the lab sticking out from the wall. On the left-hand side, there's a small tube (pictured below). It looks locked, but if you swim towards it, it will simply open up allowing you inside.

When you're inside, swim around to the main part of the lab and use the Keycard to gain entrance. All you need to do now is press the button to unlock the Stump Lab. While you're here, interact with the box opposite the door control to pick up the Left Elf Charm and explore the rest of the little lab to pick up some Raw Science.

Inside the Stump Lab

Once you're back at the Stump Lab, you'll be able to drop down inside. Once your enter, you'll see that everything is topsy-turvy. It will take a series of jumps to climb your way up to the next room, to follow it round to the terminal that will unlock the door.

As you climb up and reach the part with the tree stump covered in red wires, look down to the right to see a box glowing. Drop down to pick up the Right Elf Charm, which can be combined with the Left Elf Charm you got from the submerged lab.

When you're inside the second room, use the terminal to unlock the door and make your way back to the room you started in. The door will now be open, allowing you to drop down and pick up the BURG.L Chip. You can follow the path up and out, to take you back to the entrance of the stump, without having to parkour your way back through the rooms.

Sandbox Lab Outpost

On the other side of the Black Ant Hill Lab, you can find the Sandbox. As you leave the Black Ant Hill Lab, you can find the entrance to the Sandbox Lab Outpost, to the right (in the northeast part of the Sandbox). It's best to visit this after finishing the Black Ant Hill Lab, so you can use the Assistant Manager's Keycard to access the Lab.

You can find the BURG.L Chip on the table as soon as you enter the lab.
