WHAT IF I’M NOT HOME WHEN MY BOX ARRIVES?All our produce will arrive in insulated boxes, so if you’re not at home when it gets there, not a problem. What makes our meat taste so good? We care!We strongly believe in ethical farming practices, and always make sure our meat is fresh, flavoursome and GMO free, with no unnecessary interventions. But here's a little more about what that means... WE'RE LOCAL (& SUSTAINABLE!)All of our beef, lamb and chicken is locally and sustainably sourced from the beautiful Fleurieu region of South Australia - plus, we make sure our farming practices are sustainable to ensure it stays that way. WE RESPECT OUR ANIMALS100% of our lamb is grass-fed and always enjoys a free range existence. Happy animals mean higher quality meat. WE SUPPORT AUSSIESWherever possible, our pork is sourced from within Australia from other local Aussie butchers. And in the rare cases it's not, we'll tell you. WE LOVE OUR CHOOKSOur bran-raised, cage-free chickens are locally sourced from within South Australia and also have the RSPCA tick of approval. WE CATER FOR ALLAlthough we do stock pork products, our beef is Halal-certified before it arrives on our premises to us and does not come into contact with our other meats. The exception is our beef sausages, as they are prepared in a shared facility. What is corned beef called in Australia? In South Africa, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand, silverside is the cut of choice for corning or brining, so much so that the name "silverside" is often used to refer to corned beef (also called salt beef) rather than any other form of the cut.
What is the best corned beef you can buy?Prime—the highest grade of beef with the most flavor and ideal texture. Corned—brined to savory perfection and ready for your pot.
Can you buy corned beef brisket?Corned beef is traditionally made with beef brisket; you can buy it pre-brined and ready-to-cook. If you're feeling ambitious, you can buy the brisket and cure it yourself at home.
Is silverside and corned beef the same? The terms 'corned beef' and 'silverside' are often used interchangeably, however corned beef is a cut of meat (brisket) that has been cured or pickled in a seasoned brine. Silverside is also a cut of beef, the hindquarter just above the leg, and it gets its name because of the silver appearance on the side of the cut.
