The Avalanche rear window is fully removeable, manually, but doesn't power down. At least our 2007 model worked that way.

It isn't the entire rear window, but the Explorer Sport Trac (at least the first gen, 2001-2005) has a powered rear window. The center section slides down.

My 4runner does that. Love that feature. My dogs love it more.

Yeah i'm jealous of that feature on toyotas. I don't know why other car companies didn't copy it.

With the advent of air conditioning, most people don't roll their windows down at all any more. I don't see the point of having a rear Window in a truck that rolls down.

So you can hang stuff that is too big out the bag without the rear window bouncing around and so your dogs can chill out and hang there heads out the back. Both useful for 90% of
the people that actually use their suvs/trucks for things that don't involve soccer practice.

Dogs can already chill out and hang their heads out the side window.

I never turn on the AC unless some lady friend's riding with me and bitching about the heat. Personally, I roll down the windows and open up the moonroof whenever I'm in my car, hot
or cold, day or night.

^^ same. Opening the rear up when I have my driver-side windows down reduces noise and makes it so that the wind doesn't blow as hard into my face. Love my 4Runner for that.

Maybe if you had or had used a truck where the rear window rolls down you would see the point.

I have been riding in my Tundra, with the temp at 90. Drop the rear window, and no need for AC. Its also great when you want to quickly remove heat in the cab after its been
sitting in the sun all day.

Glad I don't have to be jealous anymore as I got myself a 4runner. My Great Dane loves the hell out of that roll down back window.
