Steal a car
Before you can even think about selling a vehicle, you’re going to have to get your hands on one. Common cars will sell for at least $1,000 each, but it’s worth your time to seek out expensive luxury and sports cars. Here’s a good rule of thumb to follow — the nicer the car looks, the more valuable it usually is. We’ve had good luck finding expensive vehicles on the streets around Rockford Hills, but head to any upscale shopping area and you’re bound to see a few.

Once you’ve found your vehicle of interest, simply hijack or hot-wire it and evade the police. Try to do as little damage to it as possible, since cars in better condition fetch a higher price. Most of the time, you can simply speed down the road and find a quiet hiding spot in an alley to shake the low-effort manhunt. As soon as the coast is clear and you have no stars, you’re ready to offload your new ride.

That video is almost a year old. You can only sell 1 car every 45 minutes now.
And sometimes you get a text message from Simeon asking you to steal a specific car which you have to respray and drive to his garage in exchange for cash.

I'm not sure why. Are you sure you didn't sell a car before trying to sell the Blista?
What level is your online character? Have you completed the online tutorial?
Here's a list of all the cars you can sell and how much cash you get in exchange. The list also shows any cars you can't sell. //gta.wikia.com/Los_Santos_Customs_Vehicle_Prices
You don't have to buy an engine upgrade or anything else to sell a car. You just drive it to LS Customs, repair it and sell it. But then you have to wait another 45 or 48 minutes before you can sell another car.

You cannot sell cars as Michael, Franklin or Trevor. You can only sell cars in online mode.
1. The regular online mode is a public server with you and other players.
2. Invite only session is a like a private server for you only but you can also invite friends.
The solo session is a server with you only, no other players.
You seem to confuse single player with online mode. In single player you can't sell cars, and you can't use a mechanic.
You have to play with your online character to sell cars and to use the mechanic. After the intro movie there's a race and some other missions to help you get started.

Okay, so to go online from story mode you have to press start and pause the game. From there you navigate to the online tab like in this picture and choose Play GTA Online.
In the next menu you should choose Solo session if you want to play alone with no friends and no other players. If you want to play with one or more friends you should choose Closed friend session or Invite only session.
And remember that any money you make selling cars won't transfer over to single player. GTA Online is a game of it's own, separate from single player.

so when i do connect with for example online and solo submode then how can i see what online character i am playing as ? Just like long pressing the down key and choosing another character just like in singple play mode maybe.
When you are online, press start and go to the online tab, then choose swap character.
If you press the down key and choose Franklin, Trevor or Michael you will log out of online and back into story mode.

So what about a garage do i also get a free garage just like i do in story mode?
when i am playing online ?
Nope, you have to buy it. You can check all the different houses, garages and apartments via your in game phone and the Dynasty8 website.
This video is old but it explains how to use the Dynasty8 website:

ok sounds great so thanks for ur help so far.
So when i start the
solo online mode I get this isue . I see a lot of other players that are shooting at me.
So I just wanted to go online but only to be with friends or only alone online but how to do this ?
I Thought the
online solo session was a session where i did not get attacked unless i attack them?
so is there a private session or mode i can use to make shure this does not happen?
Or a setting somewhere i can set
enemies = 0
I mean in call of duty u can do this.
firstly this isnt CoD, dont expect features from one game to be universal to all games.
But no matter which mode you use online, cops or (some) other NPCs can attack you depending on what your doing.
If your in a public session other players can and WILL also attack you. In Solo or Invite only there wont be other players, only NPC's, who may attack you depending what your doing (i.e cops if you have a wanted level)
