Why cant I play downloaded games on my switch offline?

unless the one you're trying to start is an online only game like diablo 3?

You can play Diablo 3 offline, it's online only only on PC. The only single player thing you can't do in D3 fully offline is the one-off check for playing seasonal characters (i.e. you have to go at least for a couple of seconds online after launching the game, if you wish to play seasona characters, to prevent cheating), but you can play non-seasonal characters however much you wish offline.

  1. Sounds like whats happening is that you haven't set your new switch as the Primary Console for your account. Whats happening is that only your profile on your new switch is able to access the content purchased by it ONLY if the account in question is connected to the internet. This is one of Nintendos anti-sharing gimmicks.

But there is a solution. All you need to do is register your new console as the new primary. To do this you first need to deregister your old console. To do that there are two ways, one with the old console and one without. Simply follow these instructions based on whats available to you to deregister your account from your old Switch:

    nintendo.co.uk/Support/Nintendo-Switch/FAQ/How-to- Deregister-a-Primary-Nintendo-Switch-Console-1364365.html

Then follow these steps to register your new console as the primary:

    nintendo.co.uk/Support/Nintendo-Switch/How-to-Change -the-Primary-Console-for-Your-Nintendo-Account-1442574.html

And this should now allow you to play your games without needing to go online to initially access them as well as allow other profiles created on your Switch to play that same content.

Hope this helps mate and best of luck!!
