SEGA have officially announced a sequel to Yakuza Like A Dragon titled Like A Dragon 8.
Today we got our first look at another Yakuza game, which appears to be officially named Like A Dragon 8. SEGA and the developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio revealed that they are dropping the Yakuza title for all games moving forward, which is surprising to say the least.
Like A Dragon 8 will be coming to PC , PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series X|S and last-gen consoles too sometime in 2024. The reveal trailer does not reveal much. We have Yakuza Like A Dragon protagonists Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu strolling down the streets of what appears to be Kamurocho, as weird Japanese voices can be heard in the background.
You'll notice straight away that Kiryu rocks a new hairstyle, which suits him quite nice while Ichiban has stayed loyal to his electroshock hair.
Kiryu and Ichiban eventually start talking, mentioning how they "don't have a choice" to which Ichiban replies "guess it's hero time". And that's about it. The trailer closes with the title screen, confirming the platforms and release window.

Since the trailer doesn't show much, the developers have provided some additional information, confirming that players will be switching between Kiryu and Ichiban, the two main protagonists of the game. Additionally, the turn-based RPG gameplay is coming back.
