1.0 out of 5 stars Defective leaked
Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2017

I bought these boots for a trip that required lots of walking in the rain and these were advertised as waterproof. Needless to say I must have received a defective pair. My right boot leaked water and even looked different when wet see the photo attached. So I returned the first defective pair and ordered another pair, well how the heck about that pair came in a used box with scuffs along the sides of the boots! Come on guys seriously?!

I love these timberland boots ! I’m on my third pair
of nubuck leather colored ones. Great fit from the start with very little break in period needed. I wear mine year round for yard and garden work and winter chores. Very durable top leather. The bottom trend does wear down and cannot be replaced I wish timberland would replace the soles like LL Bean does on there bean boots. Despite this still my favorite look & fit .

They are amazing and if you wear high socks they fit perfectly. Not ankle socks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long-term, TWENTY YEAR Review!

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 1, 2019

I bought a pair for my wife and if they're even half as good as the pair I have, they are worth it.
I got my pair of Timberland's when I was 18 out of the Freeman's catalogue! I don't wear them every day, but certainly every winter I have worn them regularly. I have travelled the world in them, scaled mountains in them, been hiking, decorated the house in them, whatever. I have used them as a proper workhorse boot and have actually never owned another pair of boots in all that time! These have always stood up to the test of time. Only now is the sole slightly corroding. With a nubuck brush, they still come up pretty good, though the leather has obviously faded.

The quality appears the same here, with thick leather and lots of stitching. They fit very well, just as expected and are very water-repellent. They are not waterproof, but it takes a lot to get your socks wet wearing these.
I'm sure many of you are just buying these for fashion, as I was back in the day (I was rocking that Wu-Tang style!) but I just had to let you know that these are actually serious boots and will last you for ages.
They are expensive, but you get what you pay for and over the course of twenty years, the £110 I spent on my pair doesn't seem so bad! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Unhappy with product and seller!

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 3, 2018

ordered a uk 6 was wore them a few times but they felt very loose couldn’t get to grips with wearing them. Pulled them out to wear them this winter then realised they are a uk 6.5 the seller sent me a box with a uk 6 on it but the bits have 6.5 which is in the shape of a 8.5 inside. Also before I gave up wearing them in January 2019 I noticed there is a metal clanking noise every time I walk in them which gets on my nerves. I was thinking why are they making metal clanking noises. after further inspection I have found there are metal bars underneath the inner soles that are moving about. I’m very upset with this products quality and the fact I was sent the wrong size to what I ordered and to what is on the box. I’d really like my money back but I’m guessing as it almost a year since I purchased them the seller won’t even consider it.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT at all waterproof: they do not keep your feet warm or dry - waste of money

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 15, 2021

These are most definitely NOT waterproof. On a rainy day or on a walk in the woods on any day... my socks are soaked. I am very disappointed, considering how much they cost. They look alright, I give them that... but so do any other boots! I wanted sturdy, comfy boots and waterproof was my number one priority. They are sturdy , and it did not take too long to break them in. They bite on my heels slightly on longer walks though, still. They do not keep your feet warm and if you want to put on a thicker pair of socks to keep warmer - the shoes are too tight (you would need more than one size up then). The sole is slippery on a frosty ground. I would not buy again and not recommend anyone who cares about features of boots other than the look. It is my second pair. The first one I sent back and Amazon accepted, they were not waterproof either. I thought, maybe I was unlucky and got a faulty pair... I gave them another go and regret it! I am hundred percent sure now - these are not made to be waterproof. What a shame.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed, go up at least half a size or don't waste your money

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 14, 2020

I bought these boots 3 years ago and have worn them once. These are the most uncomfortable item of footwear I've bought in years. They're far too tight, the only way I can get my foot in them is by removing the insoles which makes them very uncomfortable. I put them into timpsons, a cobblers, and left them there for 2 weeks getting stretched, and that didn't help much. I can barely get them on with thin socks which means, I live in Scotland, they're only useful in the spring or autumn. If you're a woman and buying these go up at least a half size and wear them for a few days about the house before making the decision to keep them. Wish I'd done that because I would've gotten a bigger size but I'm stuck with a pair of boots that don't fit properly. They're either from the kids range or fakes. The reviews and the answers tell people to go smaller DON'T! I love them but I'm really reluctant to wear them out anywhere because of how painful they get. I've worn them in the house but my toes go numb after a while. I might order the 6.5 and 7 on try before you buy and see if they fit better. Overall though I wouldn't recommend them

3.0 out of 5 stars Possibly not genuine

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 28, 2018

The product is good however I’m not too sure if they are genuine timberlands which for the price is dissapointing as there is glue showing all along where the sole meets the shoe and I don’t believe timberland would allow them to be sold like this.

What's the difference between Timberland and Timberland premium?

The Premium Timberland boot features a thicker and heavier sole that incorporates many different kinds of materials, which combine to provide greater support and comfort than the sole on the Original boot. The Original boot sole is thinner, with less midsole support and is primarily just made out of rubber.

Are premium timbs waterproof?

Timberland Boot Leather Care As it says in the name, these boots are waterproof. So waterproof, in fact, that a lot of people find that the usual leather conditioners don't work because they can't seep into them.

Are timberlands 100% waterproof?

Timberland PRO models tend to feature full-fledged waterproofing, whereas baseline Timberlands (and many other boots) may offer just water repellency or water resistance.

Why is it called Timberland 6 inch?

The Timberland brand was birthed from a small, New England-based shoemaker, The Abington Shoe company. In 1973, Abington Shoe used an innovative molding technique to produce a waterproof, 6-inch Nubuck leather boot that could withstand harsh weather. The company called it the Timberland boot.
