I’m a 50+-year-old mother of young adult children, so trust me when I say that “I know my lane.” This is not it. But don’t worry. I enlisted the help of my Roblox-playing nieces and nephews to tell me everything you need to know about gifting Roblox gift cards. This is their advice:

SHORT ANSWER:
$10-25 is a valuable amount.
LONG ANSWER:
There is no perfect amount to put on a gift card. Still, I tell people to select an amount that the recipient can use to buy a whole gift with the gift card balance. That’s easy to do with Roblox gift cards because even $5 can be used to buy things for your Avatar.
My niece said a $20 gift card “would be awesome.” My nephew said, “One real dollar equals 80 Robux and you can buy a lot of things with 80 Robux.” So there you have it.

Q. How do I redeem a Roblox Gift Card?
SHORT ANSWER:
Log into your Roblox account on a browser (not a mobile app) and go to the “Code Redemption” page.
LONG ANSWER:
Roblox gift cards can only be redeemed in the Roblox gaming system. It is a scam if someone asks you to buy a Roblox gift card to pay a bill or get a special offer. (Learn more about gift card fraud). Also, according to the Roblox gift card page, “Gift Cards can only be redeemed in a browser – they can’t be redeemed in the Roblox apps.”
Here are the steps to take:
- Log into your account and select the “Code Redemption” page.
- Scratch to reveal your gift card number on a physical gift card or claim your digital card number via your email.
- Put the gift card number and PIN into the “code” field and click “redeem.
- Click “Use Credit” to decide if you want to apply the value to your subscription or convert it to Robux.
The Roblox gift card balance will be converted to Robux credits on your account.

Q. What do you BUY with a Roblox Gift Card?
SHORT ANSWER:
Roblox gift cards (once converted to Robux) can be used to customize your Avatar, upgrade your subscription, or buy other in-game items.
LONG ANSWER:
Where do we start? Roblox is a free gaming system primarily used by kids and tweens. If the game is free, the money has to come from somewhere. In this case, users buy clothing, accessories and other digital items to customize their Avatars. They can additionally buy tools, play other games or upgrade to a paid subscription.
To be honest, my nieces and nephews tried their best to explain the options to me, and it got a little fuzzy. Here’s the bottom line: the game is free–everything else is paid for.
Q. Is it better to give a physical or digital Roblox Gift Card?
SHORT ANSWER:
Both physical and digital work the same. Digital gift card delivery is free and fast.
LONG ANSWER:
Both physical and digital Roblox gift cards work the same. Each comes with a gift card number and PIN to be redeemed on the Roblox gaming system. The main difference between physical and digital gift cards is the delivery. Physical gift cards must be hand-delivered or sent in the mail. Whereas digital gift cards can be sent via email. Because digital gift cards are sent electronically, shipping is fast and free. Plus, it’s easier to “find” a digital gift card that gets lost.
In my opinion, the best gift card form is the one that is easiest for the recipient. Get a physical gift card if the recipient likes to see and touch a gift. If the recipient knows all the clicks and tricks of mobile devices, then go digital. You’ll save money and the gift card will be delivered quickly.

How to redeem Roblox Gift Cards step by step
When it comes to redeeming your gift card, you should note that you can't do this on the app or through Xbox and instead must use your browser.- Step 1: Log into your Roblox Account in your browser.
- Step 2: Navigate to the Gift Card Redemption Page.
- Step 3: Enter the PIN from your Card and select Redeem.
