A teenager from South Carolina, called Matthew, was found to be the owner of the Twitter account.
He originally claimed the dog was named Kram and he was listening to Rihanna, but this later turned out to be fake.
According toNY Mag, the prankster had just stolen the photo from elsewhere on the internet.
However, this didn’t stop a host of hilarious memes that followed.

And for the record, we don’t condone anyone leave their animal in the car. But you have to admit the internet was funny with this one.

Few things here.
First, it's not PETA doing this, kiddos. It's concerned citizens and THE POLICE. It's a safety hazard first and foremost, not a social issue.
Overheating in a car is extremely dangerous, especially for animals who don't cool off very well and infants who can neither hydrate nor cool themselves off.
This sign is about 4 year solder than the entry would have you believe, I saw it back in '11. Because a lot of people want to be safer more than sorry, preventative measures like this sign are necessary.
