It has been more than three months since Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 began, and while some players may still be enjoying what it has to offer, others may be ready for something new. Fortunately for those fans that are looking ahead, Season 3 is very close to its end, and Season 4 is just about to begin. This guide is here to provide more specific information about the start date of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4, and it will also touch on what else is known about it.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Start Date
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 is set to begin on Sunday, September 18 following a downtime that is scheduled to start at 2am EDT. This means that players have very little time left to finish up Fortnite's Season 3 Battle Pass and unlock Snap styles, as it will no longer be possible to perform those actions once Season 4 is underway. Fans may also want to take a moment to confirm that they have unlocked the Indiana Jones outfit and accessories, as the opportunity to do so will disappear.

With respect to other details about the forthcoming season, it appears that it will be called Paradise. Additionally, there have been teasers that point toward chrome having a major role to play, and it seems that the substance may attempt to "consume everything" during Season 4. While exactly how this will manifest in-game remains to be seen, the following image, which has been shared by developer Epic Games, hints at something quite nefarious.

- Chrome has spread to the gas station near Shimmering Shrine. Part of the gas station was lifted using a Sky Platform and became the Driftin' Double Pumps.
- Neo Butter Barn has been lifted into the air as Flutter Barn. The land below it has been consumed in Chrome.
- Most of Sunken Suburbs has been covered in Chrome. The rest of Sleepy Sound has begun construction into a floating location. Lofty Lighthouse has been lifted into the air and been renamed to Loftier Lighthouse.

- Sleepy Sound has mostly been lifted into the air, becoming Shiny Sound. No Sweat Insurance has moved near the location to finish lifting the rest of the buildings in the air.
- Chrome has spread over most of Logjam Junction, becoming Chromejam Junction.
- The cabin north of the Scratch Pad has become the location for Willow's Haunt.
- The Knowby Cabin has appeared near Groovy Grove. Ash Williams can be found here.
- The Flairship has moved south over Tilted Towers.
- The Driftwood has moved west of Greasy Grove. Ele-Vault IV has been stationed in between.
- The Loftier Lighthouse has been stationed with the Cloudy Condos.
- Three Unnamed Floating Runways have been stationed over the island, southwest of the Reality Tree, between Shiny Sound and Chromejam Junction, and over Launchpad.
- Chrome has expanded further across the island towards Tilted Towers and Greasy Grove. More buildings have been fully consumed at Gleaming Condosseum and Sunken Suburbs.
- Decorations have been set up across the island for Fortnitemares 2022.
- The Kame House has been reverted to its original building, but the isle remains the same.
Update v22.30 (November 1st, 2022)
- All Halloween decorations around them map have been removed with the conclusion of Fortnitemares 2022.
- Willow's Haunt has been reverted to Shroom Chalet.
- Darth Vader and the Empire return to Reality Zero, invading the Island and landing in his Lambda-Class Shuttle once again.
- Stormtroopers patrol checkpoints around the Island.
- Chromejam Junction is now almost fully Chromed. The No Sweat Insurance Building now floats over it.
- Shell or High Water has been lifted. It now floats over towards Shiny Sound.
- Ele-Vault V has been stationed northwest of Shiny Sound.
- Chrome spreads through Outcast Outpost.
- No Sweat Insurance now floats over Chromejam Junction.
- Crackshot's Cabin is lifted up from the spread of the Chrome.
- The Driftwood floats over from the Southwest to Fort Jonesy.

- Chrome has spread into Tilted Towers, becoming Tainted Towers. The clock tower has been lifted off the ground.
- The Driftwood and The Flairship have moved east of the Herald's Sanctum.
- The cabin between Chrome Crossroads and Grim Gables has been lifted off the ground.
- Chicken coops have appeared around the island.
- December 3rd (4 pm EST):
- The Herald has covered the Island in chrome, and Apollo and Artemis were destroyed. Surviving loopers were tasked with powering the Zero Point as it would bring pieces from Apollo and Artemis, after powering the Zero Point, The Paradigm used it to perform a Zero Fusion and create a new Island with various pieces of land from other realities. - After this, Loopers stood on a piece of land looking at the new Island and roasting marshmallows, making the game unplayable. (See Stare At Asteria)

The first teaser for Chapter 3: Season 4 was on September 2nd, 2022 where it showed an image of The Paradigm sinking into the chrome. This was only shown on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
The title was revealed on September 9th when the teaser website was launched.
On September 10th, videos were posted showing various organic objects turning to chrome.
On September 14th, the official Fortnite Twitter posted 4 messages. By taking the capital letters of the four tweets, it spells 'Chrome'.
What time does Chapter 3 Season 4 start?
What is this? It's official: Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4 will have a live event called "Fracture". The event will start on December 3 at 4 pm ET. After that, the season will end with a bang before we can expect a downtime of a whopping 12 hours.
