What Is Cat Eye Nails | The Most Complete Tutorial For Cat Eye Nail Polish Application

Cat eye nail design has always been a trend. It looks like a cat's eye gem with a glamorous glow. The cat eye nails made by everyone are not the same. Some lines are straight and some are curved. Of course, it depends on how you use the magnet. Cat eye nail polish is very convenient to use, and beginners can make it at home. What Is Cat Eye Nails

Cat eye nails are one type of nail art. Cat eye nail polish contains some metallic pigments. When you use a small magnet, the metal in the nail polish will change direction as you direct. This will make your nails look like glittering cat-eye gems.

Cat Eye Nail Polish Application Tutorial

Cat eye nail polish looks very nice and easy to use. First you need to prepare some essentials.

Gel base coat- You can buy it here

LED Nail Lamp-You can buy it here

Step 1

Prepare your nails and apply a gel base coat. Waiting for drying.

Step 2

Apply a layer of cat eye polish and make sure it is applied completely.

Step 3

Immediately after applying the cat's eye nail polish, use a magnet to place the metal as close as possible to the nails (do not touch the nails), and move it in the style you want. Then wait for about 10 seconds.

Step 4

Wait for the nail polish to dry, or use an LED light to dry it quickly, and you're done.

Tip: If you are dissatisfied with the cat eye nail design you made, or you feel that the appearance is uneven and not good-looking. It doesn't matter. You can apply another coat of polish and start over.

How does Cat Eye Gel Polish work?

The Cat Eye effect is created due to magnetised particles in the gel polish. When you place your magnet over the Cat Eye polish, the magnet will attract to these particles and create amazing patterns on your nails!

How do you apply Cat Eye Gel?

5D Cat Eye Gel can be applied in two different ways. It can be applied after Base Coat just like a normal gel polish, building up the coverage with 2-3 coats in total.

You can also use it as a coat over the top of your favourite gel polish too. You will only need 1-2 coats for this, and it works best over darker shades to get the full effect.

What designs can you make using Cat Eye Gel?

With our Cat Eye Gel being 5D, it means you can create plenty of designs depending on how you use your magnets!

Classic Cat Eye Stripes

Firstly, apply your Base Coat and cure for 60 seconds in your Bluesky Lamp. Then, apply 2 coats of Cat Eye Gel, curing for 60 seconds between each coat. Apply your third coat and, before curing, take your magnet and hold over your nail for 5 seconds. Drag the Cat Eye Magnet across your nail, and the design will be complete.

You can repeat this on another part of your nail if you wish. Once happy, cure for 60 seconds. Finish with a No Wipe Top Coat and a final 60 second cure to complete your design.

5D Velvet Nails

Our 5D Cat Eye was formulated to get even more out of the dazzling effect Cat Eye Gels can create! You can get this stunning velvet looking effect by using one or two magnets.

If using one magnet:

Apply your Base Coat and cure for 60 seconds. Apply your first coat of Cat Eye Gel, and hover your magnet at the bottom, top and both sides of your nail for 5 seconds a time. Cure for 60 seconds.

Repeat this process 1-2 more times to build up the opacity – and the magnetised effect! Once finished, apply your No Wipe Top Coat and do a final 60 second cure.

You can also use two magnets – this takes advantage of even more magnetised particles:

Follow the same steps above by first applying your Base Coat, curing, and then your first coat of Cat Eye Gel. Take one magnet and hold at the top of your nail and a second magnet and hold it near the bottom. The magnets must be attracted to one another in order for the effect to be created.

Cure, then repeat 1-2 more times to build it up and finish with your No Wipe Top Coat. You’ll be left with gorgeous 5D nails with a velvet-look effect. Perfect for the popular velvet nails trend!
