There is a very simple fix that you can perform in order to fix this issue. But prior to discussing that fix, I would suggest you just patiently wait for 24 hours because in many cases, this error has been seen as a temporary error from Apple’s side that may get fixed automatically. However, if you are facing the error for quite a long time then you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your Apple device. There, tap on your Apple account name located at the top of the screen. This will open your Apple ID card.

Step 2: On your Apple ID screen, verify your email ID that is mentioned right below your name.

Step 3: Now, come back to the main Settings menu and tap on the Messages option.

Step 4: On the Messages screen, tap on the Send & Receive option in order to further verify the iMessage settings. You will see the Apple ID that is being used for iMessage mentioned there.

Step 5: Make sure that the Apple ID listed here is the same that was being used by iCloud that we verified in step 2 of this guide. If the Apple ID is different, you’ll have to sign out from the current Apple ID and will have to sign in with the same one accordingly. To do so, tap on your Apple ID listed in the iMessage settings.

Step 6: From the popup menu, tap on the Sign Out option to sign out from that Apple ID.

Step 7: Once you are signed out, your listed Apple ID will get replaced by the “Use your Apple ID for iMessage” option. Simply tap on that option.

Step 8: From the popup menu, tap on the Sign In option and you’ll get signed on with the same Apple ID that is being used in your main iCloud account.

Once this is all done, you should be good to go and there should be no “iCloud and iMessage accounts do not match” error message anymore displayed while using iMessage.
