Hello, Roblox Community Show I have a question. Is it possible to move a game from your profile to a Roblox group? When I created my Roblox game, I selected the creator to be myself (@SnowflakeForest10) instead of choosing my group. However, now that I have developers which may be payed in the future, I need to have group funds from group games. So, how can I move my game to my Roblox group and is it even possible to do? Have an amazing day! Thankyou, 1 Like
Go to file in studios and click publish game as 2 Likes
This does work. When publishing a game as another current game, you cannot change the creator of the game. You can just add versions of a game to another version of a game.
Change the creator of the game on game settings, mb
Thats not moving, you just create a new universe/game. Moving games between profile and groups are not possible as far as i know.
oh wait I just realized it, mb

I’m sorry but I didn’t know which category I should put it in. I have a group but and also a game but it’s separate. 5 Likes
I don’t think this is possible. There is a forum on this and Seranok posted that it isn’t a feature and it isn’t going to be in the near future. You could always check the road maps to see if there is any new features coming out here. You could try and post something in feature requests. https://devforum.roblox.com/t/allow-us-to-freely-transfer-our-games-between-our-profile-groups/50679/45 5 Likes
The only way would be to publish the place from the group, but then it will be a different game so 0 visits, 0 likes, etc. 8 Likes
I think what you’re talking about is putting a game into a group right? In that case, if you onto your game that you want to upload, go here Hope it helps. 20 Likes
@SoftwareEngine did a pretty good job explaining, however, you doing that will reset all visits, likes, favorites follows, etc. For your copied game. 3 Likes
I don’t see why you guys are so concerned about place statistics, that’s completely irrelevant to the question. OP wants to import a game from a profile to a group, not transfer the whole game. That all being said, I remember there was an option called Publish Whole Game that accomplished this all in one single step. Don’t know if that option still exists, haven’t bothered to check. 5 Likes
Just checked, it’s still around In studio, going to File > Advanced > Publish Whole Game will allow you to move the game into your group. I haven’t actually used this feature, but you will probably lose some statistics like visits and likes. 7 Likes
I have the same problem, i feel you.
Maybe create a game where it teleports you to that game
It’s not around anymore, R.I.P.
The Roblox group games feature allows multiple developers to work on the same game, use the same assets, share profits, and give credit to all contributors. Creating a New GroupIt costs 100 to create a group. To begin:
Roles and PermissionsConfiguring RolesAs a group’s owner, you can configure roles for other members in your group as follows:
By default, only the group owner has the Create and edit group games permission which is directly related to articles/Team Create|collaborative development and using articles/roblox packages|packages within a group. If you're collaborating with other builders and artists, you may want to create a new role for them which grants the same Create and edit group games permission. Lower-ranked roles, however, should not typically be granted this permission since it may expose your group's creations to copying/piracy. Assigning RolesIf you’re the group owner or have been assigned to a role with the correct permissions by the group owner, you can edit another member’s role as follows:
Publishing Group PlacesIf you’re the group owner or a member with the Create and edit group games permission, you can publish a group place as instructed below. Publish as New Game
Publish to Existing Game
Revenue SharingOne of the primary benefits of publishing a group game is the ability to share game revenue quickly and easily. Group owners can pay contributors by either transferring group funds as a one-time payout or by scheduling recurring payouts. Roblox will conduct periodic verification of funds to prevent fraud and abuse, at which time payout functionality may not be available. Payouts are managed through Revenue → Payouts on the group’s admin page. One-Time PayoutGroup owners may distribute a one-time transfer of Robux to a single group member or multiple members. This payout can be either a lump sum or a percentage of the group’s total funds.
Funds can only be distributed as whole numbers. Amounts distributed by percentage will be rounded down to the nearest whole number and the remainder sent back to the group's funds.
Group owners can also set up recurring payouts to share profits automatically, as they are earned. Note that recurring transfers may be slightly delayed from the time funds are received until they are distributed to members.
Any time a change is made to a group's recurring payout, members whose payout rate changed will be informed through a Roblox message.
When creating a Roblox game with others, note that members with the Create and edit group games permission can change the Allow Copying setting for a creation. Safety and IP protection in group games can be improved by following a few simple tips:
Group ownership of games means developers can more easily collaborate and operate as independent game studios. If a conflict should arise within your group, however, Roblox will not help arbitrate or resolve disagreements. Any technical issues should obviously be reported, but any discord regarding how a group is run or organized must be settled among the group’s members. |
