2 door vs 4 door Jeep Reddit

I decided a long time ago that the first car I buy for myself will be a jeep; you guys will understand when I say that no other car fits my lifestyle and the community is unbeatable. When that magical day comes when I buy it, I want to know I'm getting exactly what I want/need. So the title says it all, what are the good and not as good about both, in terms of performance and lifestyle...if that makes since.

I appreciate all the input. This won't be happening for at least another year but it's nice to get a good idea of what I'm looking for. Honestly, I really don't give a fiddler's fuck about the 4 door being "untraditional" or "not a real jeep" or "not what the cool kids have". This won't change the views of the out spoken JK lovers but the essence of being a jeep lover isn't JK vs JKU, its if the front of your ride says JEEP. plain and simple. Again thank you for the information; I'm looking forward to being apart of this community and waving at all you fuckers as you drive by. Cheers

Hello!

I’ve been a fan of the Jeep Wrangler for years now, and have finally made the decision to get one in the not too distant future.

I was hoping to get some feedback from current Jeep owners regarding the difference between 2 door and 4. My friend and his wife swear up and down that the 4 door feels more stable and handles much better in the snow. I like the look of the 2 door a tiny bit more, but considering one of the things I want is better snow performance than my current car, I’m left a little torn. The 2 doors are a few grand cheaper on average compared to the 4 door. What do you guys and gals think?

(I’m also leaning leaning 4 cylinder turbo over 6 cylinder if anyone has any thoughts on that too lol) Cheers!

I have a 2DR, and while I love a lot of it's qualities, I like the potential a 4DR has to look really nice. I really want to get into some overlanding type driving, and a 4DR set-up in such a manner is one hot Jeep. Other than that, the space would be a big factor, but I haven't been in a situation yet that demanded me to have more cargo room.

I have a 55 pound Aussie and a 75 pound Lab, they both love the JK. I do however run with no back seat so they just ramble about in the back doing dog stuff like slobbering over the side and trying to lick my face when I am driving.

They also love the JKU but in it because we leave the back seat in they sit in a giant dog hammock thing that covers the seat. It is really a choice of how much space you need besides room for the dog. The dog will be happy in either.

With either the JK or the JKU I would highly recommend a Dirty Dog cargo net or something like it over the sports bar to keep the pup in the back when running topless. Also I would not recommend letting the dog up front with no doors on. The cargo net enures no matter what kind of distractions they see they stay in the back and it keeps you focusing on driving and not worrying about the dog leaping out after a duck or something.

Hi everybody!

I currently own a 1999 Red Jeep Cherokee Sport. She’s a beauty, but within the last year I’ve had to put a lot of money into her to keep her running. She’s also getting pretty rusty on the bottom and I think it’s time to sell her while she still runs. I finally graduated college and have a well paying job. I have always wanted a Wrangler since I got my Jeep in high school. My dad even just retired and he bought himself a 4 door Sahara after hearing me talk about how great Jeeps were over the past 10 years haha.

Now to the main question:

Should I get a 2 door Wrangler Sport or a 4 door Wrangler Unlimited Sport?

The used 2 doors are around $16,000-$18,000 for 75,000 to 50,000 miles. Used 4 doors seem to be going for around $25,000-$30,000 for 60,000 to 30,000 miles. So really the price tag is scaring me off the most. I can afford a decent car payment, but I have other retirement goals I want to be sure I can always meet as well.

I feel like I want the extra space in a 4 door, but realistically I don’t think I haul that much stuff and I’m a single guy so 2 doors might be all I “need”.

Can anyone give me any advice to help me make my decision? I’d love to hear from people that bought a 2 door and feel it isn’t enough space or people that bought a 4 door and think they might not have needed all that extra space.

Thanks in advance Jeep fam!

My husband and I are trying to decide on a wrangler. I’ve always loved the aesthetic of a 2 door, but I see the practicality of a 4 door. The obvious benefits to the 4 door would be the extra room and seatbelt in the back.

We don’t commute to work, even going back to the office means a short walk or bike, and we plan on taking this camping and exploring, maybe even a road trip once the borders reopen and it is safe to do so.

It’s just the two of us right now... we plan on getting a dog, but we don’t have kids. We have friends and family here, the family is a couple with a child that do not drive, but we have a friend who we usually pair up with to go places. Regardless, I don’t think the decision should be weighted too heavily on that.

We have a very small parking spot, and I haven’t driven a car in years so I worry about it feeling like I’m driving a bus. We live in a big city so parking anywhere can be a bit of a challenge.

If you have any personal accounts of your decision making process I would really love to hear how you decided.

Which Jeep is better 2

Jeep Wrangler 4-Door: Towing and Cargo. The 4-door Jeep Wrangler offers more interior space and a higher towing capability than the 2-door option. For example, there's seating for five instead of four in the 4-door option, which means there's more room for your friends and family.

Does a 4

The four door has a smoother ride (due to longer wheelbase) but has a wider turn radius and feels more "truck like." For example, you rarely will have to do a three point turn into a perpendicular parking space in a two door, in the four door it's more or less the way you pull into a space.

Is the 2

A 2-door Jeep Wrangler is lighter in weight when compared to a 4-door Jeep Wrangler. This is what gives it a better fuel economy than the 4-door Jeep. The 4-door Jeep has a more towing capacity than the 2-door Jeep Wrangler.
