Batman: Arkham City (PlayStation 3)

How do I solve trophie puzzles with question marks on the wall?

  1. I know, that I can touch the question marks on the walls by flying into them, but what to do if there are two, or three question marks on different walls? It's impossible to bounce from one wall, to another cause they are on the same height.

Accepted Answer

  1. Usually the pressure pads are close to the same height but not quite. If you push off of one, and remain pulling up on the left stick to keep from diving doen, batman can usually make to the other pad. There are, however, some pads that are impossible to reach just by jumping off one wall and gliding to the next. The most memorable one for me is in the industrial district. You had to glide down to one wall pad, then grapnel boost up and off the tower to get your hieght again and then glide down the other other wall pad. Trickiest one i can remember. My best advice is, If you're certain that you cant glide from one pad to the next, look for a ledge to boost yourself off of (using the grapnel boost) and then glide to the next pad.

Got it ! Just hold the same button down that you used to invoke detective mode, while aiming closely at a riddler trophy.

How could i forget. Landed here too, before figuring it out. Playing on Onlive, in that case that means -> Hold the LB button to scan when you already are in Detective mode ;)

Which is also described in the cotrols pause menu

Also dont forget your DLC skin switching code ;)

To use the code, the following button combination must be pressed on the Main Menu screen after a save slot has been selected:

Left, Left, Down, Down, Left, Left, Right, Up, Up, Down

You'll hear thunder if done correctly

Arkham city question marks on walls

I found some riddles that are question marks on the floor/ceiling/walls of some rooms in Arkham Island (those are the location of the riddles, according to the map). Those question marks are only visible if you use detective mode.

However, if I scan them, the best I can get is "riddle partially solved".

How do I "solve" those riddles?

You have to move around so that you can see the WHOLE fluorescent question mark before you can solve it. You have to find the whole thing, then properly align the whole thing (by moving both Batman and/or the camera), and then scan.

Usually the "period" part of the question mark is located somewhere else from the "squiggly" part of the question mark, but not always.

These things, by the way, can be a TOTAL bitch to line up sometimes. Once you've found it all, just keep trying and trying until the scan works. Sometimes it's just a micron adjustment to make it work. And other times, you're just totally in the wrong spot and you have to find an entirely new viewpoint.

That's my only real complaint about the game is it is so bloody picky over how things are aligned. I get it with the question mark riddles because you need the period at the bottom of the question mark to have a complete one, so having it aligned makes sense. Some of the regular riddle puzzles though are just too particular about how they should be lined up. I remember the firefly one and i was trying to get that stupid newspaper article lined up just right for about 2 minutes before the game accepted it.

If I'm close enough to it and looking at it, it should accept it straight away.

Only complaint about the game, but it is a phenomenal game

How do you get the Riddler question mark?

You need to hold down the detective mode button to scan it. LB on 360, and L2 on the PS3. If you're not getting any type of message about nothing being found, or misaligned, then likely something else is going on. I've found the green question marks, I line them up in detective mode, and hold L2.

How do you activate the Riddler pressure plate on the wall?

As long as the next thing you touch is a pressure plate, they will stay on. You can do this once Batman gets the line launcher, stand on a plate, glide or move on the line launcher to the next plate until you have them all. For the ones on the walls, you need to glide to them, then glide to the next and so on.

How do you break soft wood paneling in Arkham City?

Find a higher spot close by, get to it, then jump off and do a regular glide into the plywood (Holding A in the Xbox 360 Version). Running into it from the glide will break the plywood, no need to do anything else.

Can you scan Riddler trophies in Arkham Asylum?

You have to find their locations in Detective Vision, align the question marks, then hold the scan button to record them.
