Attack on Titan ending explained Reddit

It's irresistible.

And what was stopping Eren from actually using his head and refusing to turn the world into a blank slate???

Eren never tried to change what he saw, because his vision of the upcoming events were what he wanted.

Eren wasn't a slave to his future. The future wasn't set in stone. He simply wanted this future to happen, so it ended up happening...

The series never shed light on whether an actual change to the past can lead to a new timeline or cause the entire world to vanish due to the emergence of a paradox.

We never knew had Grisha not given the Attack Titan to Eren, the universe would've been split into two timelines where the original one existed alongside the altered one or simply have ceased to exist because the loop was broken.

Since you were the one arguing Eren didn't want to do the Rumbling, and his destructive impulse was, according to you, a thing of the past, then why would statements like these matter???

I did want to go buy a bike, but I now don't. Whatever was in my mind at that time didn't matter now.

But for Eren, his past desire still existed at the time of the Rumbling.

In fact, during ch.131 where the conversation chronologically took place, Eren specifically stated his desire to destroy the world.

Destroying the outside world was simply what he desired. He couldn't change his actions and therefore the future because he wanted it to happen.

This was his plan. This was his desire.

Why couldn't Eren find a way to protect his island when his powers included:

  1. Limitless necromancy that can spawn past Titan Shifters to aid in battle.

  2. Absolute control over the anatomy of Eldians to the point he could simply make everyone infertile like Zeke wanted or turn millions of his people into any Titan of his desire.

  3. Manifesting crystallized structures that can be used offensively or defensively such as the creation of the Walls.

Eren was nigh-omnipotent, but he still tried to induce the biggest bloodshed possible, because he wanted this.

It was his desire, even though he admitted not knowing why he would actually desire this...

I think the sterilization plan could have worked somewhat like this:

- The objective here is, above all, to end the power of the Titans from the world, while giving the Eldians a good chance to live the rest of their lives in peace, and refusing to kill billions of humans over 1 or 2 million Eldians.

- Zeke and Eren announce to all Eldians, though the Paths, that they will be unleashing a few Colossals as a demonstration of the power of the Rumbling to destroy a single Marley military base in 30 days, to give them plenty of time to evacuate, so no one has to die. This is also to allow the Eldians in Paradis enough time to evacuate the area around the Walls, so no one will get hurt when they destroy the walls and unleash all Colossals and move them all to a perimeter around Paradis island. They will also immediately sterilize all Eldians, and turn any pure Titans in the world back into human Eldians.

- During these 30 days, Zeke and Eren will continue to announce to the rest of the world, through radio and every other means their plan to sterilize all Eldians and bring an end to the Titans. Mostly, they wish for the Eldians to just live the rest of their lives in peace in Paradis, and if they can do so, they will also end the power of the Titans from this world.

- None of the Eldians in the guetos should be attacked during these 30 days, and 2 years after that. Since they are all connected through the paths, they will know if any of them are killed, and they warn, there will be consequences.

- After the world has seen that the threat of the Rumbling is real, they should comply with every demand from Eren and Zeke, if they don't want to be exterminated. They can't refuse.

- Just like the Colossal Titans were created and ordered to stay inside the Walls for decades, half of them will be turned into flying Titans, like Falco (or maybe even flying Colossal Titans) and they will all be reprogrammed to guard the perimeter of Paradis from any incoming ship or aircraft that approaches the island without an Eldian in it. This isn't foolproof, but it should serve as an automated defense system for the Paradis. Every year, 1% of these Titans will disintegrate, and if all Eldians die before 100 years, the rest of them will disintegrate the moment the last Eldian dies.

- Soon after Zeke and Eren destroy the military base and show the power of the Rumbling, Zeke should arrange to have Historia and her baby assassinated, and then pass his Titan to someone else. This should end the royal bloodline and make sure no one would ever be able to undo his sterilization, guaranteeing the world would be free from the power of the Titans in about 100 years. After that, the Eldians would have to survive with only the threat of the Rumbling. They should hide the fact that the bloodline is gone by saying Historia died from childbirth and now they only have her child capable of unleashing the Rumbling, so they will keep it's identity hidden, and a Titan Warrior guarding it all her life. As long as the rest of the world still believes they can unleash the Rumbling, it should be enough to keep the world from attacking Paradis, as the will be able to see the Eldians slowly dying in the next 100 years.

If any country doesn't comply with the Eldians demand, they still have the power of the 9 Titan Warriors to threaten these countries with retaliation. These 9 Warriors should know that they can't use the Rumbling anymore and so they must not abuse the power of their Titans, because if they force the world to attack them and they find out they won't use the Rumbling, the rest of the world may attack them when they have the means to do so.

- The next two years should be enough to prove to the rest of the world that Eldians indeed have all been sterilized, since no new Eldians will be born 9 months after the original announcement. The world will know that it is possible for the Founder to sterilize all Eldians from a distance.

- After 2 years, the rest of the world should provide safe passage to all Eldians from the guetos  to come live in Paradis. It doesn't matter if these Eldians don't want to, they all have to come to Paradis, where they will live the rest of their lives.

- In order to continue living without giving birth to new Eldians, the Eldians demand that the rest of the world provide them with a number of orphans they don't take care of, like Ramzi, every month. We know most of these orphans will be well taken care of, most adopted children are.

- Until they can properly settle the new Eldians that have come to Paradis, they wish to trade Paradis' unique resources with the other nations. Nations that refuse to do so will be losing a powerful partner with unique resources. Paradis doesn't wish to create more enemies at this point, they just wish to survive and create a healthy trade relationship with the other countries.

- After a few years, visitors from the rest of the world would be able to see that the orphans are being well taken care of, and the Eldians are just people that want to live their lives in peace. Because the Eldians can't have children, it's safe for the orphans to live with them. In time, only the orphans will start having children with each other and start raising their own families, as the Eldias become older and older.

In 50 years, by the time the rest of the world finally develops weapons capable of defeating the 9 Titans, that should have given the world plenty of time to see that the Eldians have been true to their word and no new Eldians have been born in the world, as the blood test will show. The rest of the world may choose to engage in a war with the Eldians, risking the Rumbling, or continue to wait and watch as the Eldians slowly die.

During all this time, the 9 Titans must continue to be passed around. They could be used to help rebuild Paradis. At some point they may want to unite some of them into only one Eldian, so that fewer people will have to die because of them.

If everything goes well, after about 100 years, when the last Eldian dies (with the power of the 9 titans with it) and the last of the Wall Titans are gone, the world will be free from the Titans and the Eldians will have lived their lives in relative peace (maybe more peace than some other countries).

- I hope the fact that they can't really use the Rumbling anymore should be enough for the 9 Titans to "behave" and not engage in another great titan war to see who rules Paradis.

- I won't get into the several ways the Zeke and Eren could have used the Path powers to improve the biology of the Eldians or share the knowledge of all the Eldians, since the very existence of these OP Path power should break the story.

- This is just an example of how, using the immense power of the Founder, Eren could have chosen a "better" plan than the Rumbling.

What does the ending of Attack on Titan mean?

Eren and the Titans In the end of the manga, Eren attempts to destroy the world by reviving Ymir and invoking the power of the Founding Titan. However, Mikasa ultimately kills him, which results in Titans and their powers vanishing from the world.

Why AoT ending is disappointing?

Because the series ended with many unanswered qurstions. And above all of it is the ending itself was not satisfying. Writerwas unable to explain what were Eren's intentions. He was happy with massacre of Humanity and also he was sad.

Does AoT have a happy ending?

It's not entirely possible to categorize AoT's ending as either happy or sad. Eren dies, but everyone moves on with their lives, with him never achieving the freedom he sought his entire life. However, the people around Eren work to create a better world for Eldians.

Why was Attack on Titan ending controversial?

At the same time, an influx of plot contrivances muddle the chronology of the final battle. The closing chapter's critics also argued that the landscape of Attack on Titan's ending renders major elements of what came before meaningless, such as Eren Yaeger's transformation into a villain.
