Where can I rent beach umbrellas and chairs on the beach? How much do they normally cost?

For renting umbrellas and other beach equipment, look for the big blue boxes that line the west edge of the beach everywhere in OC. They rent chairs, umbrellas and other beach equipment. They will rent them by day, week, or season, and will put them up and take them down when you're done for the day. Umbrellas rent for about $20/day or $100/week and chairs are about $10/day or $49/week (prices vary a little bit among operators, but not too much).

Another option is stopping into any Sunsations store and buying your own beach gear if that interests you.

You can rent them right on the beach.  Look for the yellow or blue rental boxes by the sand dunes.  They are located about every 3 - 4 blocks.  A chair and umbrella rental cost around $16 for the day but prices vary.  You can also rent by the hour and week.  You can also bring your own chair and umbrella to the beach for free.
