Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is a nursery rhyme of English origin. The lyrics of the song are based on the poem by Jane Taylor, first published in 1806. The melody is inspired by the famous song Oh! Shall I tell you, Mama from 1761, which is not, contrary to popular belief, composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. On the other hand, it is well this last one which popularized it through its Twelve Variations. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is today one of the most played nursery rhymes by amateur pianists. Show

The easy piano version is in the key of C major so you have no sharps or flats. The left hand is simple and plays the root note of each chord and the note length is a half note (minim) each time. Intermediate Piano VersionIntermediate Piano VersionIn the intermediate version I have increased the complexity of the left hand by adding in some scales at different points. An obvious way of making a piece more challenging to play is to
try it in a different key. D major has 2 sharps (F sharp and C sharp) and so is a bit more challenging to play on the piano. However, it is a really good challenge to set yourself as a player to be able to play pieces in different keys. Hope you enjoy playing this!
