Looking to get a new strap just to wear while I’m in the pool this summer which type would your recommend?

Sport loop is great - it moves with you and dries quickly.

According to Apple the safest and most practical band for water sports and swimming is the velcro sports loop, worn reversed, which means that the overlapping part should be on the upper side of the watch, not at the bottom as you can usually see in pictures.

The problem with the sports loop is you cannot wipe it dry. So after swimming you have to put up with a damp watch band.

The sports band can be wiped dry with a towel and worn right away. I actually prefer the Nike sports band because of its ventilation holes.

I swim with the Sport Loop and it's great. When I first bought my watch, I bought the Sport Loop for day-to-day and the Sport Band for swimming. But I got tired of swapping bands for swims and now just keep the Sport Loop on all the time. It does absorb water, but it dries quickly.

Is the there any difference in WR between models? I always used to swim with S4 aluminium with no issues. However I’ve not had the courage to swim with my new SS S7

I can touch the bottom of a pool

The pools here should hopefully be opening again soon, and I have a new Apple Watch that I’m ready to use to track my progress (and how far I’ve fallen...), but am not sure the best band for the water.

The Nike Band looks nice, but I’m worried that it might pop off (especially if I do outdoor swims again... I’d hate to have it drop off in the ocean). The Sports Loops look more secure, but I’ve read they don’t dry well? Any third party options?

the sport loop. it's the most secure for swimming. and Apple says to wear it flipped with the loop up top to make it more secure slapping against the water. that way the clasp hits the water closed rather than being ripped open..

i can personally confirm you should do this! went cliff jumping and did NOT do this and every time it would Completely open the strap.

My sport loop always comes undone when I'm swimming. I haven't tried reversing it though.

Nike Sport Band. It dries very quickly and does not extend over time.

I tried several textile-based straps but always returned to Sport Band.

im preparing for long open water swim and I have the original Nike sport band (with 3 holes), I have been using sport bands for over 3 years and it never ripped apart in or out of the water, but im kinda worried, do you have any advice?

Hi guys. Lost my Apple Watch two days ago diving into the lake wearing the standard band that the watch comes with. Now I’m determined to find the most snug band for when I purchase my new Apple Watch.

The nylon strap is the best for everything. It’s classy, water proof, sturdy, easy to put on and it’s lasted very well over the last three years. It was totally worth paying the “Apple tax”.

Consider something with a traditional buckle design.

A guy who enjoys underwater diving posted a video here a few weeks ago where he found four Apple Watches on the bottom of a river where people jump off from the bank. I am pretty sure I remember correctly that all four had the flouroelastomer (sp?) band.
