There’s a great little coffee bar, cuisine from around the world including Italy, France, Mexico, and Asia, and a great buffet.

You can even grab a bite from the poolside grill, or have some light fare right on the beach.

There’s a steakhouse, seafood, and lots more.

The food is excellent here, and the service is out of this world.

If you need to work up an appetite to try it all you can spend the afternoon playing tennis and other sports, walking along the beach, playing some golf, and so much more.

There are clubs for youth of different ages, family friend live entertainment, and a casino for the adults.

10. Barcelo Bavaro Palace

Barcelo Bavaro Palace has something for everyone in the family.

There are some nice bars and clubs, but it’s also a good choice for non drinkers, too.

They recently added a very cool pirate-themed section to their water park.

There are four swimming pools with one that’s just for kids, and one that’s just for adults.

Families can enjoy the other ones together.

When you’re sitting out on Arena Gorda beach, you’ll find yourself never wanting to leave.

12. IBEROSTAR Costa Dorada

This five star resort is right on the beach, and it’s only a short stroll away from your room.

Iberostar Costa Dorada is yet another home-run from this brand, who appear on this list multiple times.

They manage to entertain children, teens, and adults.

There are unique activities for each age group including exclusive clubs, but there’s still a lot to do as a family.

14. Grand Palladium Bavaro Suites Resort & Spa

Some of the ground-floor suites at Grand Palladium Bavaro have a pool right outside your room that you can step right into and go for a swim at any moment.

There are five pools throughout the resort, but it’s hard to beat the beach itself.

If you’re feeling lucky, you can stop by the casino.

16. Majestic Colonial Punta Cana

The name Majestic Colonial is very appropriate, it perfectly describes the style here.

There’s a touch of old-world elegance, but with a very modern and upscale feel.

Splash Kids is a very fun place for the younger members of your family to play.

It’s a pirate-themed water park, and it’s far from being the only part of this resort that’s just for the kids.

You can help yourself to a buffet, or enjoy impeccable service at one of the restaurants.

There are over a dozen dining options, including food from all around the world and a fancy gourmet dinner spot that’s just for people 12 and older.

This resort was removed very recently in 2017, and all of the additions and upgrades still feel brand new.

17. Casa de Campo Resort & Villas

Casa de Campo Resort & Villas has plenty of accommodations to choose from depending on your budget and how many people you’re traveling with.

There’s no charge for children under three years of age at this resort.

They have supervised programs for youngsters from 1-17 years old, along with an extra Family Fun Zone for everyone to enjoy together.

Activities include unlimited horseback riding included in your package along with tennis and non-motorized water sports on the beach.

There’s skeet shooting and a number of other activities that we don’t see at every other resort.

Check out one of their many restaurants, snack bars, or sit back and order room service.

18. The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana is a boutique hotel that offers incredible service, amazing rooms, and limitless luxury.

From the spa, to the pools, to the beach itself… the only decision you’ll have to make while you’re here is to decide what to enjoy first.

The family concierge service helps make those decisions even easier.

They can guide you in the right direction, and inform you about everything that’s taking place throughout the whole resort so you don’t miss a single thing that catches your interest.

There’s a restaurant right alongside the main pool where you can try new and exotic flavors, or you can find many old favorites located throughout the property.

19. Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro

Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro is a world-class resort with affordable vacation packages that’s in one of the most beautiful locations in the entire world.

The architecture is gorgeous, the interior design is opulent, and everything just feels put together very nicely.

The teens club is an opportunity to enjoy some age-appropriate entertainment for anyone a bit too old to enjoy kid’s stuff.

Everyone in the family will have fun getting a little competitive at the mini golf course, and for the kids there’s a great little water park.

Theme nights, karaoke parties, special classes, and other activities take place according to a calendar, so make sure you check with the front desk to see what’s going on while you’re there!

They have a truck that drives around and sprays for insects and mosquitos occasionally, which can make a big difference to the overall comfort.

20. Majestic Elegance Punta Cana

Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana is a huge resort, with nearly 600 rooms to choose from.

The suites they offer make this resort great for families of five.

Adults love the swim-up bar which his a “bucket list” thing for a lot of people who stay at a resort.

So is sitting by the beach, in the hot sun, with shade over your head, sipping a fancy cocktail.

But if you aren’t a big drinker, that’s just fine, this is still a family resort after all and there are plenty of other ways to relax.

The canopy beds around the pool are just amazing, imagine if your bedroom was always in the middle of a tropical paradise?

For the kids there are supervised programs from 9am to 6pm everyday.

As a family, you can enjoy a number of water activities including windsurfing, catamaran, pedal boats, and sunfish sailing.

The crystal clear waters make this location the best for snorkeling.

21. Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace

Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace rounds out our list of D.R. all inclusive family resorts.

Being at the bottom doesn’t mean it’s necessarily the worst, different families are looking for different things from their vacation.
