If your garage door does not have the correct bottom retainer to accept this style of weather seal, simply replace the retainer.

We carry many shapes and sizes of retainers that will accept this T style, U shaped weather seal letting virtually any door accept this seal.

Here is some information on EDPM Rubber – EDPM RUBBER

Very Easy to install

-Remove old weather seal, clean and straighten the bottom retainer if needed.
-Check the ends of the retainer, they may have been pinched at time of original install, open those ends up if needed.
-Spray lubricant into the channels of the retainer, WD 40 or a like product works well. One person guides the seal into the tracks, one person pulls the weather seal.
-Do not stretch the weather seal tight, move it along the bottom of the door until it is not
being stressed or stretched, cut off any excess and lightly crimp the ends of the channel
to hold the garage door bottom weather stripping in place.

In situations where the existing bottom retainer of the door will not accept this type of weather seal and you need or want to use this type of weather seal, simply replace the bottom retainer on the door. We carry a wide variety of garage door retainers for the bottom of the door that will accept this type of weather seal. With the correct retainer and weather seal combination, we can help you seal any door to any floor.

How do you seal the garage door on an uneven floor?

A U-shaped bottom weatherstrip can often adjust sufficiently to your uneven floor to do the job. There are also various garage door seal strips on the market to compensate for gaps created by an uneven concrete floor. Threshold seal is very easy to install because it is made of flexible rubber.

How do I fix the bottom gap on my garage door?

For gaps along the bottom of your garage door, the problem may stem from worn-out or chewed weatherstripping. You can find weatherstripping kits at your local hardware store. Measure the trimming twice to ensure it fits the length of your garage door, then cut it to size and install it following the instruction manual.

What are the different types of garage door bottom seals?

There are four main types of garage door bottom seals:.
J-Type: Also used in single channel retainers, the J-type creates two letter “J's” on both sides when the door is closed..
T-Type: Simple enough, the T-type seal is an inverted “T”. ... .
Bulb: Bulb seals are long round tubes that are narrow at the top..

How wide should garage door bottom seal be?

Measure the width of the seal as it lays flat. The most common widths are 3" and 4" (but could be anywhere from 2-1/2" to 4-1/2").
