7.5 GoodBased on 1,524 verified guest reviews 7.7Couples 7.3Friends 7.4Families 7.5Solo Pros + Cons - Time of Year: Mar-MayJun-AugSep-NovDec-Feb Sort by: Pros:The quality and quantity of towels The black and white tile in the shower Hair dryer Cons:Bigger elevators Pros:Location Cons:This hotel is overpriced for the value. We have stayed here before and had a good experience staying in a suite in the main building. This time we stayed in a king room and ended up in the building separate from the front desk. The room was tiny. Like NYC hotel room tiny. The air conditioner was so loud we couldn’t even run it while trying to sleep. There was terrible street noise, hallway noise and we could hear every time someone nearby turned their water on. The room didn’t have a refrigerator or microwave, there was obvious water damage in the bathroom and the parking garage was so small we hit the roof of our mid-sized SUV on the pipes. Do not recommend staying here. Pros:Customer service and rooms were clean and spacious Cons:The 2 separate buildings Pros:Very welcoming attitude by all employees we met. Very clean and comfortable room. The staff went the extra mile with a smile. Cons:No complaints Pros:The room was exactly what we needed. Comfortable, roomy, great location and at a very fair price. You can't ask for more. Cons:The water pressure is the shower could be a little stronger, but at the end of the day, it worked. Pros:Great location, many places within walking distance. It was very easy to get to off the highway, plus cheap parking! ($25/night). Room was small, but had everything we needed for 1 night - bed, bathroom, shower, wifi. Pros:Location. Strong, free wifi. Reasonable parking (for Chicago) Cons:Small (full) beds, small room, no breakfast, poor value ($300/night all in) Pros:Good price, great location. Cons:Rooms on Ohio Street are noisy during AM rush hour as cars & trucks drive by. Bed firm, just OK. Pros:Price, pool, walking distance Cons:No refrigerator in room Pros:The hotel is centrally located and about a mile walk or short cab ride to all tourist sites. It has an easy access to many restaurants. The lobby and indoor pool facility on the roof was clean and well maintained. The noise level was fine for the city. The rooms were small, but adequate if you are a petite sized family. The price (including the $25 daily parking fee, plus additional $10 for taking your vehicle out of the garage) was fair relative to other surrounding hotels. Although unable to resolve several issues, the staff was friendly. The overall building appeared secure. Cons:The hotel has only 1 primary working elevator. There is an elevator that has been out of service for sometime and will probably not be fixed in the near future. Several guests have reported this problem since the beginning of summer. Although the room was overall clean, the carpet was very dingy and there was about a 2 to 3 feet in diameter DISGUSTING stain on 1 corner. I told the front desk and all I got was the complimentary apology. Again this was reported by one other guest on Trip Advisor. Perhaps it was in the same room, Room 505. The bathroom looked clean, but my husband and son reported that there were some disgusting stains underneath the toilet lid, which I refused to look at to verify. It looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time. The shower and toilet area is very tight so it can feel like a closet. The pillows were very small, like a toss pillow, and flat so bring your own and the sheets were slightly stiff and rough. There is no fridge and the ice machine can only be accessed on the 4th floor. 125 West Ohio Street, Chicago, IL 60654-7168
