Bio Bidet USPA 6800 vs BB-2000

Today, we’re comparing the Bio Bidet BB-2000 with the USPA 6800U. We’ll cover the original 6800 as well since a few of those bidets are still on the market.

For more in-depth info on the 6800 (with images and demos), check out the Bio Bidet 6800 vs 6800U review and comparison (article link).

Overall, the USPA 6800U offers better value, but the BB-2000 has a better heater. If having a stainless-steel wand or better water temp control, then choose the BB-2000. For the best value, choose the 6800U, since it offers more features and is available for half the price.

The main differences between the BB-2000 and USPA 6800U include:

  • Hybrid vs tank-type heater.
  • Wireless remote design (standard vs dual-sided).
  • Dual nozzle vs dual action (3-in-1) nozzle.

Main Differences: USPA 6800U vs 2000

The BB-2000 Has a Better Heater

In short, the BB-2000 provides warmer water fr longer than the USPA 6800 and 6800U.

The improved warm water supply is made possible by the hybrid heater, which integrates instantaneous heating technology.

Bio Bidet made the BB-2000 as an upgrade from the BB-1000, and one of the main improvements was the hybrid-type heater.

However, the USPA 6800 and 6800U have an enhanced tank-type water heater that never runs cold. The tank holds about 2 to 2-½ cups of water so the warmest batch of water runs out after 30-40 seconds, and then drops to about 90 degrees where it stays indefinitely.

The USPA 6800U Has a Fancy Wireless Remote

The USPA 6800/6800U and BB-2000 have high-tech wireless remotes, each featuring an LCD display. The screen lets you do more with fewer buttons, allowing the user to control more.

The 6800U takes it to the next level with the double-sided design, which makes for a slimmer remote with even more functions.

Dual Nozzles vs Dual Action Nozzles

Some folks care about this, so it’s worth mentioning. All modern electric bidets allow the user to spray the rear and front regions.

The USPA 6800U has dual nozzles, one for the rear and the other for font female cleansing.

The BB-2000 has a single, 3-in-1 nozzle. I.e., one nozzle with three holes.

The BB-2000 Has a Stainless-Steel Wand

It’s not like bidet nozzles see a ton of wear and tear, but anything made of stainless steel is more durable than something made with plastic.

The USPA 6800U has plastic nozzles. Stainless steel isn’t inherently antimicrobial, so the benefit has less to do with nozzle sanitation—though some manufacturers claim that stainless steel resists soiling.

The 6800U Has a Child Wash Mode

Most Bio Bidets come with a “Child” or “Kid” button for younger users to get a preset wash (or wash + dry) session with child-friendly settings. For whatever reason, the BB-2000 does not have this feature.

It’s a nice feature because kids don’t need to know how to operate the bidet at a high level, or which settings to choose, or what all buttons need to be pressed.

With the 6800 and 6800U, one push of the “Kids” button puts all of the child-friendly settings in place (extended nozzle for shorter height, comfortable water pressure, lower temperature) and activates a 2-min cleansing session followed by 3min of drying.

The 6800U Has User Presets

User presets let you save your preferred settings. Depending on the bidet, it’s usually things like nozzle position, water pressure and temp, wash and dry session length, etc.

The 6800U lets you save water pressure and nozzle position. The BB-2000 and the original 6800 lack this feature completely.

In addition to the presets, you also get an auto function, which lets the user get a generic wash/dry cycle with one push of a button. The BB-2000 has this feature as well.

Pulsing vs Vortex Enema Modes

The 6800U and BB-2000 both offer a high-pressure spray setting that doubles as an enema function for relieving constipation.

The BB-2000 enema function produces a concentrated vortex water stream meant to easily penetrate the sphincters with the right technique.

The 6800U has an IPP enema function that pulses high pressure to massage the area around the external sphincter, which has been shown to help stimulate bowel movement (source). The pulse enema mode can also be used to let water enter the rectum.

Both get the job done and can be used for regular high-pressure cleansing (I.e., not for constipation relief).

The 6800U Produce an Aerated Stream via Bubble Infusion

The USPA 6800U incorporates bubbles into the water stream which produces a soft yet firm cleansing spray. They call this “bubble infusion”.

My bidet has an aerated stream and I’ve found I can use high pressure for longer periods without the spray becoming uncomfortable.

Also, while bidets don’t use much water, aerated streams do cut down on water use in the long term since air displaces water.

The BB USPA 6800U Advanced Bidet Seat

First, is the Bio Bidet USPA 6800U (Amazon link).

First things first: I still get asked about the USPA 6800, but the 6800 has been replaced by the 6800U. You can still find the original online, but not on the manufacturer’s website. The newer 6800U is the same price (sometimes less expensive) and has more features.

In making the 6800U, they added a nightlight, user presets (there was only an auto mode before), and a fancier double-sided remote.

The nightlight is a great feature because it’s just bright enough to allow you to use the toilet in the dark (effectively and without tripping over yourself), but not so bright that it wakes you up. So, for late-night trips to the bathroom, you won’t have to blind yourself with bathroom lights.

Of course, the bidet comes with all of the features you’d expect: warm air dryer, nozzle oscillation, high-pressure mode, heated seat, and even a built-in deodorizer.

Another cool feature of the USPA 6800U is that it has both presets and a basic auto mode, when most bidets have one or the other. See below for details.

Features and Specs

Water Temperature:

  • Basic reservoir-style heater for about a min of warm water per session. Heated water in the 2-½ cup tank sprays warm for about 40 seconds before starting to cool down. Overall, the warm water cleanse should last about a minute—plenty enough for most bowel movements.
  • 4 temp settings, the highest reaching 104° F.

Water Pressure:

  • 5 settings for the water pressure, with the highest setting putting out a flow rate of 0.24 gal (or ~ 0.9 L) per minute.
  • A strong IPP (Intensive Impulse Pulsation) high-pressure wash mode.

Comfort, Convenience, and Aesthetics:

  • Warm air dryer that can be adjusted to 5 temperature levels.
  • Adjustable heated seat w/4 temperature settings to choose from.
  • Dual-sided remote control w/LCD screen, a scratch-proof surface, and handy wall mount.
  • Built-in air deodorizer to eliminate embarrassing odors. A fan at the back of the bidet pulls air through a carbon filter to eliminate bad smells at the source.
  • Easy one-push auto mode. Hit one button and get a 1-minute cleansing session followed by 3 minutes of drying. The cleansing session includes standard, oscillation, and massage (20 seconds each).
  • Dual user presets for nozzle position and water pressure.
  • Non-bulky design for a slim look and plenty of upfront room. The 6800U is fairly sleek for a Bio Bidet at only 5.7” (~14.5 cm) high in the rear.
  • The 6800U infuses the water with microbubbles for a softer and firmer cleansing spray.

Seat and Lid:

  • The seat and lid have a soft-close hydraulic design to prevent wear.
  • Quick-release button for easy bidet removal and cleaning.

Cleaning Wand and Spray Capability:

  • Dual plastic nozzles, one front/one rear, for posterior and female hygiene.
  • Both nozzles are adjustable to 5 positions for aiming accuracy.
  • Basic and massage-oscillating spray pattern. In basic mode, the nozzle moves back and forth for wider coverage and more effective cleaning. In massage mode, the nozzle oscillates rhythmically to provide a soothing massage.
  • The high-pressure IPP wash setting doubles as an enema mode for relieving constipation.

Safety and Sanitation:

  • The bidet has automatic self-cleaning wands, so the nozzles automatically clean themselves before and after each use.
  • Built-in toilet bowl-illuminating nightlight for safe bathroom navigation in the dark.
  • Safety occupied seat sensor to prevent accidental bidet operation.
  • A child wash mode that triggers an automatic wash/dry cycle with one push of a button. When activated, all features are adjusted to be child-friendly (lower pressure, extended nozzle, lower water and seat temp).

Water and Energy Efficiency:

  • The 6800U has a low-efficiency water heater but the energy-saver setting helps cut down on power use by reducing seat and water temperature when you’re not using the bidet.
  • The air bubble technology saves water in the long term. Bidets don’t use a ton of water, but the savings add up.

The Bio Bidet BB-2000 Advanced Seat

Next is the Bio Bidet BB-2000 (Amazon link). It comes in round and elongated.

Overall, it’s a great bidet and one of the more popular Bio Bidets on the market.

The main benefit of the BB-2000 is the hybrid heater, but for the price of the BB-2000, you could get the DIB Special Edition (article link).

If choosing between the BB-2000 and USPA 6800U, I just don’t see the water heater and stainless-steel nozzle as warranting the extra cost (the USPA 6800U is about half the price).

With all that said, the BB-2000 is a great bidet and one of the more popular options on the market.

Features and Specs

Water Temperature:

  • Extended warm water flow via hybrid heater. Again, it’s described as continuous (or limitless) warm water, but it’s not. While not as good as the DIB SE or DLS Discovery heaters, it still outperforms the tank-type heater of the USPA 6800U.   4 water temperature settings that range from 37.4° F to 104° F.

Water Pressure:

  • 5 water pressure settings with the highest setting putting out a max flow rate of 0.185 gal (or ~0.7 L) per minute.
  • Extra-high pressure via vortex wash mode.

Comfort, Convenience, and Aesthetics:

  • Slim, convenient wireless remote w/ LCD screen. The remote is vertical and slender. While it’s not double-sided, the LCD screen helps save space by allowing you to do more with fewer buttons.
  • Warm air dryer w/adjustable temperature settings.
  • Adjustable heated seat w/4 temperature settings.
  • The BB-2000 also has an air deodorizer. While air fresheners mask odors with strong fragrances, deodorizers simply remove bad smells by breaking down offending molecules.
  • While it doesn’t have user presets, the bidet does have an auto function. Enjoy a 30-sec wash and 1-min dry with the push of a button.
  • The BB-2000 is around the same size as the USPA 6800U with a rear height of 6” or ~15.2 cm. So, it’s not overly curved or bulky.

Seat and Lid:

  • Gentle-closing seat and lid to reduce wear and tear.
  • Convenient release button on the side of the bidet for easy removal and cleaning.

Cleaning Wand and Spray Capability:

  • The BB-2000 uses a single nozzle for both front and rear cleansing, via the 3-in-1 design (three holes, one nozzle). The third hole is for vortex function. The nozzle is adjustable across 5 positions for aiming accuracy.
  • Unlike the USPA 6800U, the nozzle is made of stainless steel.
  • The vortex mode provides an extra strong and narrow stream meant to penetrate the rectum for constipation relief.
  • A wide oscillating spray mode to hit a greater area, and a pulsing spray option for a massage-like cleansing experience. The pulse function rotates hard and soft pressure.

Safety and Sanitation:

  • The BB-2000 nozzle is automatic self-cleaning, so the user doesn’t have to remember to use the function. I.e., the nozzle self-rinses automatically before and after each use.
  • Safety sensor to prevent unwanted surprises.
  • Nightlight for safe bathroom navigation in the dark.

Water and Energy Efficiency:

  • The hybrid heater uses less power than the tank-type heater of the USPA 6800U.
  • When activated, the energy-saving Eco mode keeps the water and seat temperature at 89.6 F (32 C). The heated seat and water heater are the two most energy-consuming bidet components.

How long does a Bio Bidet last?

They last for 6 months or longer depending on your water quality and will reduce water pressure when they get old and clogged up. How to remove the bidet toilet seat to clean underneath it.

How do you clean a BB

The manual specifies that you can press the button on the remote, hold down on it for three seconds, while not seated on the on the bidet Seat, or hold down on the wash button, on the side panel of the BB-2000 for three seconds while not seated on the Bidet Seat. Either of those will make the nozzle come out.
