Thank you for your interest in touring DC Water facilities. Due to the evolving situation with the Coronavirus, tours at the Authority have been suspended indefinitely. While DC Water plans to offer tours in the future, the Authority is not accepting any tour requests at this time. Group Sizeup to 25 guests at one time TransportationTransportation will be provided for groups of up to 12. School GroupsStudents in grades 6 to 11 (ages 12 – 16) are allowed on the plant, but will not be permitted to exit the vehicle. Wastewater is collected by the District of Columbia sewer system and from the Maryland and Virginia suburbs and is delivered to the Blue Plains AWTP. The Blue Plains AWTP is the largest advanced wastewater treatment facility of its type in the world.
