String of Bananas Sunlight RequirementsThe String of Bananas needs lots of light to flourish. Place it near a window that will give it plenty of sun all day long. A south-facing window is optimal, and be sure to rotate the plant regularly to promote even growth. Repotting should be done in the spring every two years. Be sure not to plant the top of the root ball farther than one inch in the soil to avoid stem rot.
