It will last forever. That said, I a bit disappointed in the fit. I would call it a sloppy coat. You get the full range of motion for sure but it basically just expands out and is oversized and doesn’t go back to normal. I basically have a 6” tent around me. It is also really heavy. Given all the insulation technologies out there, something else should have been used. I needed the full range of motion more than the insulation. This would be better if they took the insulation out, slim the cut a bit, and let people layer it. They are not something you wear to look stylish, and they will never be confused with lightweight sport clothing. But if you are out shoveling dirt in 10 degree weather, this is your jacket. === The Good Stuff === * It is built made like you would expect a Carhartt jacket to be. The material is strong, durable and tough. The seams are well sewn, and the snaps and zippers are industrial looking. The pockets are large and deep, and don't look likely to rip or puncture. * The jacket is designed to allow for free arm movement, and for the most part, that is exactly what it does. As advertised, you can swing an axe while wearing this jacket. * The fabric "breathes" to some extent. There appears to be somewhat of a waterproof coating on the fabric, at least enough to withstand a light misting. I don't know that I would want to wear the jacket in a heavy rain, but for light snow and rain, it is fine. I would guess the jacket is good for about 20 degrees or so, maybe colder depending on what you wear underneath. * The sizing is "true". I normally wear a XXL jacket, and this jacket is about the right size to wear even with a heavy shirt underneath. === The Not-So-Good Stuff === * I didn't weigh the coat, but be prepared for a bit of weight. I wouldn't exactly call it uncomfortable, but be sure you are OK with heavy-weight clothing. === Summary === If you like heavy, well-made Carhartt clothing, this jacket will be right up your alley. It is the ideal jacket to hold up to a hard day's work in a cold environment. If you are not familiar with this style of jacket, don't confuse it with modern, light-weight or high-tech clothing.
